Decrease the distance between what you are and what it is possible for you to be by adding an extra meaning to the experience that singularizes you.

Read below the presentation of the novel "Duma Key", by Stephen King, the existing subject in the matter of a fine analysis of human personality, and try to catch the thread of this wonderful, meaningful story:

A terrible accident on a construction site rips the arm of Edgar Freemantle, darkening his memory and mind. The ordeal of the recovery period causes changes in his personality and boasts of uncontrolled anger that hasten the end of his marriage.

Edgar wishes he never survived the accident, but his therapist recommends a geographic-existentialist remedy: he advises him to completely change his life, leaving the busy city and the businesses in the construction industry.

Retired to Duma Key, in the paradise of the Mexican Gulf, Edgar starts painting passionately, discovering an extraordinary talent. But his attraction to painting and drawing seems to be commanded by a force that surpasses him, like a constraint. Many of his paintings have a power that cannot be controlled, almost mystical, revealing secrets long buried, awakening the ghosts of childhood. And his talent can be, at the same time, a weapon… *

Leadership: Do you start to understand the purpose of a painful experience when you cease to judge it in terms of an inherent causality, with that self-understanding given the manner of dealing with a new way of life?

What you become by means of an important moment, characterized through the means of a present that "is never good enough", so one that has the chance to be accessed only by accepting a strong feeling of imminent personal transformation, giving it a certain meaning, helps you better see the connection between what pertains to you and the things over which you really have no control.

The addiction to what is happening to you in favor of a broader existential change, managing to spread to the edges of the unknown, in the immense hope of a favorable fate, is the path to showing yourself faithful to a status and to a value of reference assumed through the membership to a guiding force that you cannot oppose. Whoever is given the chance to discover extraordinary talent must first experience the pain of surviving a crossroads of life, and not just survive, but find the strength to be someone else, a pioneer.

To restore an important moment and penetrate the profound meaning of facts, to dedicate yourself to the idea of Cause – what do you do with what has happened to you? – merging with it in the conditions of limiting and conditioning the freedom of choice, is a measure of your ability to continue to move forward by capitalizing on the experience that supports the ratio from cause to effect.

One’s degree of determination is supported by that surplus of meaning of the experience that singularizes him.

Singularity is a concept that refers to the implications a major event has over personal progress. To become someone else, through the immense latent power of the mind and soul, means to keep from what is old only the useful part, it means to give consistency to transpired events in an ideal plane of existence.

Life is the progress that the result of the events to which you relate most deeply gives you, because it reveals your willingness to relate to the dimension of learning from what happened, so that you are more concerned with the things that really matter. This is also a kind of knowledge that you can consider together with the most hidden, or most intense, or the noblest feelings, because the vision of life and the most important teachings materialize in a completely different person only when negative events are viewed through a magnifying glass, both their importance and their consequences.

Singularity reveals the willingness to analyze the progress of your own learning, knowledge, by taking into consideration the finality of a stage of life, with related feelings, and materializing a new stage in a material and moral satisfaction.

To accept the truth about yourself by analyzing your willingness to make progress on a certain side of life, proving a great mental and emotional will, is the product of a materialization of knowledge based on less happy experiences, related to the most intimate and vulnerable feelings. And what is the truth about yourself? Are you willing to look at yourself differently? Are you willing to change, to become a completely different person?

The beginning of a review of life, at the level of consciousness and towards a new aspect of who you really are, is due to responsibilities that you have in relation to yourself in terms of the unfolding of events that you do not expect to occur.

A Symptomatology Of Existentiality, varying according to the evolutionary stage of man, is consistent with that experience that singularizes him. Thus, let us not forget the two great themes of existentialist thinking, according to French philosopher Emmanuel Mounier:

1. The fragility of the human being – Man is always exposed to his own end, his destruction as a human being, because he only exists as such through personal effort.
2. Solitude and secrecy. Every human being feels lonely, impenetrable to others.
3. Engagement: For one to build up his life, he must choose, he must constantly choose to engage in relation to his destiny.
