The source of the artist's creation, seen as a testimony of a distant past, can represent an object of his attention in providing a unitary improvisational context.

Eisenstein asks the composer to write the music for this episode before filming. He shows him the drawings of the frames that he will shoot, explains the ideas for the construction of the episode, the confrontation between the two camps... He then asks the composer if he won't be able to use old Catholic songs. Prokofiev listens to him carefully, follows the sketches, then communicates his own thoughts. He was also tempted to use the music of the era. He researched it. But he found that she had become alien to contemporary sensibility.

The music that Catholics probably sang frantically 700 years ago leaves you cold today, regardless. So something else has to be done. And Prokofiev's intention meets, in fact, organically with Eisenstein's conception. The composer thinks it is more appropriate to play the music "not in the form in which it sounded at the time of the battle on the ice, but in the form in which we imagine it today". The same thing with regard to Russian music. So your music must be written in a language with which our auditor is familiar, but he will have to be cleverly deceived into taking it for music of the distant past.

How should your creation reposition its sensibility to become an object of public attention, so as to express the three R's: "reality, revival and reconstitution"?

The manifestations of an artistic creation, such as cinematographic art, suddenly settle into a conception of the "neo-realist" type and are usually empirical. Screenwriters describe them as the "3Rs" (reality, revival, reconstruction). Precocious conceptions in which ideas gradually evolve in intensity and reflexive extension, may be masked by the depth of sensibility with which the public receives them. Especially the degree of reproduction of emotions from reality in the film, through music and image, is a good indicator of quality and the possibility of resonance, a fact that signifies a certain authenticity.

The abolition of any musical or visual sensibility, through the appearance of repetitive patterns, determines a certain rigidity in the narrative, being a sign of seriousness in terms of originality. Just as, in a sick person, skin cyanosis that does not disappear under pressure signals the disappearance of the viability of the skin in the ischemic area, in the same way in cinematography the lack of originality leads to the loss of public interest. Let's not forget that in art, adapting historical elements to contemporary tastes can revitalize old themes in a surprising way.

In order to achieve a quality creation in cinematography, it is essential to collaborate between two opposing minds: one focused on sensitivity, the other focused on analysis and details. The initial creative planning, in terms of the intelligent way of composing a script, establishes the major ideas and outlines the basic construction of a realistic image against the proposed artistic vision. When it comes to directing in cinematography, each component, music or the flow of scenes, must be harmoniously integrated to create a system of narrative elements that work as a unified whole.

Does the authenticity of your creation depend on how emotions are reconstituted in a conception that capitalizes on reflective intensity, on the plane of a vision capable of becoming a testimony of your inner strength?

A talented director believes that the intention of a cinematic creation is to open a new perspective on reality, being a reason to aspire to a higher artistic level. It should also be added that in cinematography, a collaboration between two seemingly contradictory approaches is essential: artistic sensibility and detailed analysis. Initial creative planning requires clearly defining major ideas and establishing a framework that supports a realistic artistic vision, integrating elements such as music and scene flow into a coherent narrative system.

On the other hand, directing is a strategic process in which each component must come together harmoniously to provide a new perspective on reality. A talented director can reach a higher artistic level through collaborative exploration of ideas, detailed analysis of narrative structure, and integration of a diverse range of elements to form a unified whole.

In this context, every detail counts, and the collaboration between sensitivity and analysis offers an opening to a narrative unity that allows the creation of a complex and innovative cinematic work. The artistic vision thus finds its expression in a well-planned system that integrates the components in a harmonious way and aspires to a higher artistic level.
