Do You Think That I Love You And That You Can Trust Me?

What makes an affection sincere and lasting, seen as a bond between the dreamer and the doer, depends on an unwritten pact by which you share your beauty, pain, joy and sadness.

I had come to Paris before you, determined this time to see you, to approach you and to check the effect it could have on you, this resemblance that I knew existed between me and the woman you had lost.

- Ah! you knew these things too, madam, said the count.

- I thought at first that I succeeded; Olympia continues. At least you made me believe that I had revived, in you, the memory of the poor departed. I was returning you to your first love, to rejuvenate your soul, to purify it and to make it come out of all these frivolous and petty gallantry that had usurped the place of sincere and deep feelings for so long. You are becoming, little by little, the man I wanted, the one you were, perhaps, before the frenetic and easy existence in Vienna.

But, at the moment when I thought I had realized my dream, the life of Vienna suddenly came back to grab you through the person of this princess whose lover you were. Oh! In the evening when the Deaf opera of Portici was played, when I saw you enter your box with that arrogant, depraved, naughty woman, I felt that frivolity and pleasures rule forever the man they once captured. My last dream was shattered, and I proceeded to Paris, as I had proceeded to Vienna, under the same circumstances: I fled again, sir, and, overcome with grief, went to Venice.

Well, I ask you again, do you think that I love you and that you can trust me?

Can you rethink the act of reactivating a forgotten memory without implying that you want validation and reassurance from the interlocutor?

Everywhere we find memories, levers of inspiration, from simple happenings, events, to various things that seem to have spread naturally in our minds, moving away from the reality of a present that flows infinitely slowly, where the whispers of "remain good" are so slow as to be useless. Memories change masters with every second of pain, they change what made your soul happy at one time, with the risk of overwhelming you later, when the waves of pain recede, asking for a short break.

The warm wind of memories blows constantly, but in gentle gusts, as warm and pleasant as in any corner of one's transition from the desires of reason to those of the soul.

In the given context, "reviving a memory", the testimony from the depths of the human soul and consciousness, pursues the goal of self-knowledge resulting from introspection, suggesting that the speaker is trying his best to bring back to mind or revive the memory of a person who is no longer there. present, probably with the aim of maintaining a connection with her or to honor her presence as befitting.

This is also a form of leadership, because "reviving a memory" actually communicates some well-defined states of mind, some relevant life attitudes, which create the context of an authentic self-transformation. The leader is an ever-evolving self, a self shaped by unforgettable memories that reaches out to those around him beyond what has been spoken through the interweaving of his memories and experiences.

Leadership is the framework of action through which balance is developed between the roots of soul and reason. It is a framework for action that reinforces an unwritten pact between feeling and life, between belief and action, facilitating communication, inspiring trust, and providing direction and guidance in the relationship between someone who lives with memories and someone who carries that memory with them.

Do you think that I love you and that you can trust me? It is a question that you must answer, whenever you refer to a life that deserves to be relived, retold, a life in which the future and the past change places.

When it comes to leadership, you must not look at the steps of the ascent as states that can be left behind, but as permanent states.
