Leadership Credibility

Complete your role as a leader by shaping the raw material of your being.

In the last few days, news has spread around our country. It has been revealed that a high-ranking official, namely a politician, has been accused of plagiarism. “Nature” magazine estimated that half of the work written by the politician had been copied verbatim from various sources. In the meantime, the people who took a detailed look at the work increased the percentage of plagiarism, to about 80% of the volume.

The politician categorically rejected the accusations, claiming that it was just a citation error. “These apologies are embarrassing, ridiculous”, said Alexandru Toma Patrascu, a founding member of the Secular-Humanist Association of Romania (ASUR), an MBA graduate of the Open University UK. It is impossible for a college graduate and a doctoral student not to know the rules of citation, say the specialists.

Normally, when you take a paragraph from an author, you put quotation marks and some notes. The notes, whether at the bottom of the page or at the end of the paper, indicate exactly the author, the work, the publisher, and the year of publication, plus the page on which the excerpt is located. Both methods are valid.

If this is not done, it means that you have stolen someone else’s creation, intellectual property, and this is already a crime and is punishable by imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years.

Leadership: Is your self’s reaction to the world and the relentless laws of finitude always controlled by the same whimsical pride, that of hiding your ignorance?

Are you a detective trying to find out the truth? When you intend to get to know people, try to get a better look at them, like a detective, like Columbus trying to find out the truth and suspecting everything. Do your best to find out as much as you can about them. For something can always come to light, something that will reveal the inefficiency in their own promotion, the inefficiency of their own game – a game they play, just like any influential man, but not following any rules.

If you come around to understanding this game, devoid of fair-play, which some people make, you will be able to understand not only where they come from, but more importantly, where they are going. There is nothing better to show you what motivates people, what kind of character they have, than the leadership they practice – this beautiful game of great people, transformed into a spare part, which distorts the character of some, pushing to falsehood and hypocrisy, like a weight sinking deeper and deeper into the sea, leaving no trace.

In order to acquire a more detailed and nuanced knowledge of human nature, in order to take possession of their most hidden resources, you must discern, at least temporarily, the mechanisms that condition the individuality of man. But without giving in to their will, without sinking too deep into their darkness. You don’t have to get lost in them to be transformed by them. Like a detective, you have to look for as many clues as possible about human nature, and most of the time they will be revealed at times and in places you do not expect.

1. How do you try to gain a deeper understanding of man? Does this knowledge help you better know yourself and understand where you are going?

2. What is your motivation for knowing human nature? Is the relationship between you and other people based on their thorough study?

3. Are you able to bring people to the stage of handing over the baton?

Leadership: Can you take on the role of judge in a permanent increase in your importance in the realm of greatness, when “defeat” is the only alternative that can give you a real mental challenge?

Leadership practiced by corrupt people, who lack integrity and do not respect any ethical principles, is like the roof of a one-story building that collapses under the weight of the accumulated snow. This snow is not a structure, it cannot be easily removed, it cannot be canceled like a soap bubble. But it is gathering more and more until the roof pillars give way. The roof of a one-story building collapsed…

People who practice such leadership cannot attain perfection, because their functional structure, their virtues, their emotions, their qualities, are more and more affected by their false nature, by their rotten way of thinking and acting. And once infected with this virus, that of bypassing or defying any rules, any rules of common sense, they can no longer rehabilitate themselves in front of anyone.

Because they lose their credibility and support, becoming simple players who are constantly trying to bring remarkable results, but without success. Simple players who stumble in front of the wall built on their own weaknesses, by their own shaky minds – a wall that collapses on them, unmistakably and powerfully. Leaving room for other dodges, other possibilities than defeat.

Sooner or later, the poor leadership of these individuals will completely destroy them. How can one build a program for people’s development, direct their progress, give them the authority to carry out their tasks, finally bring them to the stage of handing them the baton, if you have lost your credibility? How can one develop personal relationships with people that cannot be endowed with the ability to dedicate themselves, to mobilize around solid values and principles, unanimously accepted by all people: such as fairness, honesty and honor?

Credibility is like a book full of mysteries: until it is part of your life, you will not be able to feel its story, and the latter will catch your soul.

Leadership Credibility is a necessary condition to be able to carry out your activity optimally, as a person who realizes that he has a vocation and a mission to fulfill, being obliged to shift the emphasis from the role of a simple information carrier, to the one of trainer of fine, moral, assumed intellectualism, passing everything through the ruthless filter of the brilliant brain.

1. What are the top three factors that could affect your credibility? How cheap could you sell your credibility, and under what circumstances?

2. Do you know how much it costs to become a leader? Do you agree with the saying “success comes suddenly”? If so, then your character is still not well defined.

3. Do you think there is success without commitment? Is commitment that great quality of yours, above all others, that allows you to become a successful leader?
