The performer’s mind seems to have a logical response to everything that tests his understanding: “I know that one times one makes one. And that one times a thousand still reduces to one.”

I was at the marathon competition, as long as my presence lasted for a short period of time, at the 33k and 48k events respectively. It is interesting to load up on the emotions of other winners of any kind and of any age, fond of high-intensity moments, and present yourself as an additional companion to the long-awaited revisiting every year.

Without any pretext, directly from the perspective of the eyes that capture the mysterious stirring of hearts hidden in this story, I could discover the difference between what is given and what is achieved: the first is pure chance, the other is an irreplaceable art, a reality of the order of assigning meanings. And as much as I would have deepened into the intimacy of a finite horizon of waiting, to make room for the widening of the space of intense experience of the energy of others, of the state in which everyone is active and alert, thus allowing myself to be pushed by the greatness of the event beyond the drain of the time, it was as if I still kept a restraint in relating to that mysterious feeling, called “distance from myself”, which kept shouting, and shouting, and shouting, without anyone hearing it.

It seemed that the voice in me was the echo of the surrounding voices that were resounding louder and louder, like the gong of a pendulum striking the exact hour, but as music, in its pure form, resounds on the world’s most famous stages, on the chords of a famous inner echo of the fierce fight: “We are the champions !” Naturally, without emotions, it would have been just entertainment that I could not have afforded. The emotions resulting from the action, carried on in undisguised form, maintained their symbolic frame of reference.

The connection with yourself depends on the faculty of your eyes to unite in one direction, so that you discover what is the potential of other people to occupy a position of strength vis-à-vis a certain event?

There is something else. The words that meaningfully characterize the purpose of the biggest sporting action of the week, with intense vibrations of fire, without finding any fault in them, having a value almost equal to the value of the gold reserves of the world banks, seem well imprinted on the face of the finalists: “I contained with the soul, with the heart, much more than the eyes can see !” So, emotions are specific and intense psychological reactions to a certain event.

Now the thought seems insignificant. But something must ease my effort to find the perfect flight to a great expanse beyond the line of any horizon, encompassing a very wide area of possibilities, or even everything. After all, this is also a faculty of the eyes to unite in one direction maintained by the aspiration to reach an unprecedented height. And the same thing happens with the mind, when it flies, everything seems to obey it, it seems to be somewhere else even in the presence of elements that distract it. Especially in competitions, the performance runner’s mind seems to have a logical response to everything that tests its reach and understanding: “I know that one times one makes one. And that one times a thousand still reduces to one.”

Understand that in the course of this battle with the rainy weather, not only with oneself, each participant in the race kept the last resistance of physical forces until the end. A mysterious cry of victory filled the echoes of the surrounding world in an ineffable spell, a breath of passion expressed in the form of stimuli, memories, unforgettable moments.

But the soul, which hides and has “alterity” deeply sewn into it, this fierce realism soaked in the momentum towards unsuspected heights, a stranger in the middle of the everyday frame, only looks forward, towards another horizon, towards be the protagonist of another piece full of motor images aligned in a geographical space full of improvisational variants. Let’s listen to the soul’s dreams and share its nostalgia…

Does the probability of placing yourself in the foreground of a view that broadens the horizon of understanding the surrounding world, depend on the degree of certainty you have regarding a certain event that requires “distancing”?

There was a breath of fresh air in all this commotion, a breath of a certain kind, as if someone or something was trying to bring order to what was happening on a huge stage full of strangers. I didn’t recognize myself at the beginning either, I hadn’t reserved that unique honor of knowing myself vastly, covered by the cheers of the crowds inside me, because I stopped right at the end, and because at the end you can’t maintain the joy of the beginning.

I haven’t forgotten that the marathon is an event that requires distancing, because you don’t run on the back of someone else.

Tomorrow will be my race, the optimal option to ease my access to another horizon, far away, somewhere else, a kind of confrontation with the insatiable appetite for boundlessness, in the sense of concentrating all my resources to mobilize my need to be somewhere else. A new beginning that the end will consider another beginning… a beginning that will have the courage to say freely at the end: “I forgot when I began, for I have stepped forward and became unrecognizable.”

Fabulous ! A great artist always finds something to touch up even on a masterpiece. Therefore, if the result does not fully satisfy me, I will end up inventing one myself, with a different beginning and a different ending, hoping that this will be the only, but also the best option, by which I will be able to relieve my need to feel valuable. Full of momentum, I will merge with someone else who, looking in a magic mirror, traversing space and time, feels something impossible to imagine: that I have reinvented myself somewhere else, somewhere where I can never be surpassed by anyone. Thus, the ending will be mine alone, decided only by the creator fiercest in reinventing reality.

Tomorrow will be the beginning. The beginning without end. Maybe that’s actually who I am: the beginning with no end, even if I end up anywhere, somewhere, at the end…

In leadership, you must cultivate a foregrounded view of self-attitude towards others, to better understand that the reality that cites you as a witness of a large-scale event must be expressed in terms of “part that replaces the whole”.

Undoubtedly, the beginning of any competition is a beautiful and emotional moment, an example of convergence between yourself and the rest of the world. But the beginning will never replace the end which represents the closing formula of a great work: reconciliation with yourself, a form of resistance struggle, a tacit acceptance of your contradictions with yourself.
