Find the connection point between what you are and what defines you, so that your leadership allows for an optimal highlight of the role you play in the lives of others.

Yesterday I read an article about a teacher who was awarded by King Juan Carlos of Spain. He was awarded the distinction for promoting the Spanish language, culture and civilization in Romania. And the Spanish Ambassador to Bucharest, Estanislao de Grandes Pascual, who organized the award ceremony at the opening of the 8th edition of the Spanish-language National School Theater Festival, said:

“Georgeta Vanţiu’s whole life was, in fact, a battle for the promotion of the Spanish language and culture. In 1986, the communist authorities intended to give up the Spanish language in the curricula. This did not happen, thanks to the decision with which Mrs. Vanţiu supported programs, signed protests, and advocated, no matter what humiliations that would entail, to keep the subject in the education system.At the time, she was part of a cell of professionals enamored with Spanish culture, some of which are either no longer among us, or do not live in Romania any longer.”

Leadership: Are you willing to go all out, strongly believing in your ability to initiate change and maintain it in difficult situations, without falling into contexts dominated by secondary aspects of the world you choose to believe in?

The keys to progress in leadership are: the courage not to become a prisoner of the system, the ability to initiate and maintain change in difficult situations, the ability to be flexible and work in diverse environments, the ability to distinguish fantasy from reality.

There is only one way to reject tomorrow: to not have it experienced in the souls of others, in harmony with them. In order for your ascent to occur quickly, you must take the first step worthy of consideration by other people: to give due importance to the role you assume, to combine it perfectly with that of the leader, anchoring it in the scenario of a new reality. You will have a colossal success only if you show solidarity, only if you manage to offer a truly innovative interpretation through a role full of substance, full of passion and energy.

Mrs. Georgeta Vanţiu showed an effective leadership meant to bring value – through passion, through enthusiasm, through her attempt and success to constantly maintain people’s interest in a subject that was not accepted in the education system by the communist regime. She has shown, by exerting strength of character, that she is tailor-made for a role of great importance. I would say that she was a leader by her firm determination not to give up her initiative, by her skill and perfection in coming into contact with people – demonstrating a great ability to understand the importance of the human factor in the development of a society.

As a result, her well-performed role, which has had a major influence on thousands and even tens of thousands of people, was not devoid of praise from the “public” who are grateful for her beautiful performance. The distinction offered to her for the promotion of the Spanish language, culture and civilization in Romania, was not only an opportunity to recognize her leadership qualities, it was also proof of her own greatness.

Leadership: Does the moment you choose to make a change depend on the sacrifice you are willing to make to accept that you are in the phase of refusing a decision that marks the moment of assuming the restriction of your own freedom?

Your personality must be defined as that of a man made for strong and complex roles, where there is no possibility to deviate from the decisions made. Leadership should not be like a circus show where people laugh out loud. But an authentic, real, serious one, full of emotions and feelings, adapted to your own vision – a show in which what seems impossible becomes possible.

Does the foundation of your leadership have a solid foundation? What beliefs does your leadership rely on? Is it based on the belief that other people’s needs are a top priority? Is it based on the belief that you can work with them to change what is not working well, on the belief that you need to fill in the gaps in their professional lives?

What are the ways to your progress in leadership? Are you making progress in implementing those measures in your action plan that are best suited to people’s needs and aspirations (and which can have the potential to drive their professional development)? Are you making progress in improving your interaction with them? Are you making progress in providing people with access to a greater diversity of resources that will facilitate their success?

How do you show that you fully understand the sublime meaning of your mission?

Every leader, like Mrs. Georgeta Vanţiu, needs time to climb the leadership ladder, a lot of things need to be done. But the most important thing is the mission you take on. Do you know how to demonstrate your greatness through your mission? Does your mission involve sacrifices? Does it narrow your horizons? Can the mission lead you to a professionalism in which you can respond in any situation? How does your mission help you reach a higher level? What’s the one wrong thing you didn't notice? Does the mission help you to establish good relationships with other people?

Remember: If you do something and lose people’s trust, your relationship with them can be severed in the blink of an eye.

The point of connection between what you are and what defines you is actually a way of looking at yourself as in a realistic mirror that reverses (from high to low) the way to identify with the hero you want to turn into.

The Proof Of Greatness In Leadership is the very power to face the danger of losing your freedom, in the event of the introduction of an action (based on common law) that may lead to a change in the way you redirect a potentially tragic outcome. To do this, you must allow yourself to voluntarily select how to deal with extreme situations.
