The Eyes See Only What They Are Ready To See

A true artist knows how to create an image that in the distance seems identical to the one nearby.

A man is running on the beach, but not so close to the shore. The sun shines on his path, the sand warms his feet, the sea does not cool his feet. This man feels the sand full of shells, sees the sea to his right, hears the waves, the whistling of the summer wind, and I suppose he lives with the present in his sphere of ambitious thoughts.

The sea is in the same place. The same sand, the same shells. But the tracks of the runner’s footsteps, no matter how pressed, are erased as fast as the wind blows. And what’s left? The memory of a sensational image? The wonderful interweaving of living elements: the footsteps, the sand, the shells, the sea, the wind, the gaze fixed on the horizon? Or, is it just the illusion of a time flowing in a story context?

I don’t really think we can separate the individual from this living whole without destroying the cohesion of the whole. So we have to look at this picture differently. Let’s say, that a great creature moves in a background that is permanently the same, but the way it is emphasized may be different, its meanings may differ, and the immediate consequence may consist in an exceptional performance, renewal and entry into a new stage of life, which dominates a fabulous show.

At the same time, we must consider a simple performance of the isolated personality that has consecrated its entire existence to the service of a moment of reflection present within a temporal flow of spiritual energies which, being assimilated by the soul, changes its structure.

Does the perspective that your creation offers consider the induction of the feeling of renewal of one’s own self, with the help of a fragmentary experience corresponding to a strongly controlled image from the outside?

The running that the person practiced could designate the occasion of a moment of existential grace, in no case a serious moment of physical wandering. In this case the individual represents an extension, a temporary fragment close to the divine spirit, an Eritelynzta(a living example of renewal of one’s own self), but which offers the opportunity to reminisce about episodes from his small existence and to reunite with the one he once was.

And in the same way we must look at the attributes of an artistic subject capable of provoking interest: through a kind of intense experience of the present moment, converted into a suggestive and realistic image. It is the expression of a subjective perception of time oriented towards eternity through the permanent commemoration of a present that works from the inertia of the past.

In another case, the image of the runner, debated in many forms of systemic wisdom, is the personification of a feeling in its own dynamism and its transposition into a spiritual dimension, because through sport one can respond well to the hardships and sufferings that man faces.

Have you learned to obtain the attributes of an artistic subject capable of provoking interest: through a kind of intense experience of the present moment, converted into a suggestive and realistic image?

Any element must be somehow resized, superlatively put in the following equation: what meets the dynamism is a suite of relevant emotions that evoke memorable events. Whoever lives by attachment to the object of desire or thought, has existed and will truly exist through what he inspires. He who lives by what he does lives by himself. And what is in motion remains unchanged in a background that suggests an unlimited, Edenic space.

The next time you see a man running on the beach, consider it an infinite possibility to form new relationships with other elements from another background.

The runner is significant because he represents a universal in the plane of the particular. Especially because it is the same great creature who now writes these words not only for himself, but to create an image that in the distance seems identical to the one nearby. I’m sure you noticed. I was first of all a runner who later wrote about him as if he had before his eyes the image of another man whom he was to represent in a quick drawing.

As an artist, I became the author of a unique creation, based on the excellent possibility of being what I feel and what I think, as a reaction to what comes from the outside, being only the brain’s reaction to what the eyes see and sometimes, it’s hard to understand why it’s happening…

Here, we distinguish two attributes of an artistic subject capable of provoking interest: the manifestation of a personal way of integrating a new image in the surrounding reality, and the manifestation of a greater receptivity to the interpretation of a form of alterity that I emphatically call: “The Other”.

In leadership, a suggestive and realistic image is the equivalent of perceiving a double of your own being: one seen through an active culture of movement, and one seen through an outside eye that follows its every movement.

The Eyes See Only What They Are Ready To See when the artist tries to capture a reality that, viewed from any point, would always prove identical with his own. A true artist will never try to capture the distance of a dream or a new horizon, without first mastering the reality near his own being.
