The Feeling Of Reduction To Primary Elements
Creation involves a search for the fundamental core, the basic elements and principles that are at the origin of a phenomenon, process or complex creation, so as to provide a deep understanding of subtleties and hidden meanings.
Lines and colors are shaped, transformed during the journey through Mexico. The hardness of the lines and the harshness of the colors soften towards the south. The cruelty of the central plateau is softened. In the north, the red birds do not eat their prey as soon as they kill it, but stick the beetle or the worm in the top of a leaf and wait, in order to devour it, to be dried by the heat of the sun. There the horses are driven to crush the testicles of the rebellious peons with their hooves after they have been buried in the burning earth. There is a world of cruelty. Towards the south, the pointed leaf of the maguey laces and turns into the curls of vines. The bright color gives way to green tones. Cruelty dissolves into indifference.
That "day-dreaming", that thirst for diurnal semi-somnolence, continues to remain for Eisenstein a means of perceiving the environment, bringing to consciousness strange visions, metamorphoses of reality. In this "paradise of graphic art" the artist begins to draw. Very, very much. Record what you see. Then, going beyond this first phase, through the abstracted, intellectualized line, the drawing captures a very sensual, at the same time delirious relationship between human figures in unusual situations.
The feeling of the genesis of the world that he tries all the time in Mexico, this feeling of reduction to essences, to primary elements, is probably also at the base of the essentialized thinking about the life-death relationship.
Can you develop a holistic view of things, starting from the essences to be able to then integrate the multiplicity of aspects and details into a coherent and profound whole?
In the cultural landscape of any region, lines and colors morph and transform, reflecting not just geographical but emotional changes. This is what the director needs to make a masterpiece. The harshness and cruelty of the north, where even the leaves witness violence, gradually transforms into the maguey of the south, where the metamorphoses of reality become frequent. This process is similar to an allergic skin reaction, where visible changes are responses to external stimuli, with each region reacting differently, similar to individual sensitivity to allergens.
A cinematic creation stimulates introspection, awareness and understanding of fundamental relationships such as those between life and death, because in art there is often a tendency to explore and convey essences of the human condition, deep existential themes related to the cycle of life, death, suffering, love, etc. Through cinematic techniques such as symbolism, visual metaphors, powerful images, art can provoke introspection and deep reflection on the great existential questions of the human being.
Can you make the effort to discover and understand the depth, roots, sources or substrates from which a reality springs, beyond its immediate appearances?
Authentic art tends to convey universal and intimate truths about human nature, forcing us to confront the fundamental turmoil and questions that define our experience on this earth. Stories and characters in films can reflect and explore the boundary conditions of existence such as death, suffering, sacrifice, etc., leading the viewer to meditations on the meaning and value of life.
A talented director, captivated by this "paradise of graphic art", expresses his feelings and perceptions through drawings, using an abstracted line to capture sensual and delirious relationships between forms. It reflects the genesis of the world and the dynamics of the life-death relationship. The artist identifies and utilizes cultural elements that can minimize emotional dissonance and maximize artistic expression, thereby enhancing the perception and appreciation of his work in various contexts.
Leadership facilitates an "essentialized" thinking, focused on the basic elements and principles, the generative nuclei from which the whole derives.
Moreover, this sense of reduction to primary elements provides a more comprehensive view of the genesis, origins, and primordial processes underlying complex phenomena or creations.
The Feeling Of Reduction To Primary Elements represents the effort to discover and understand the roots, sources or substrates from which a reality springs, beyond its immediate appearances. It is a gateway to basic truths and meanings, to the meaning-generating cores of a work, thought, or complex human experience. It is an attempt to simplify, to reduce to pure forms or expressions, to essentialize creation by eliminating excess and preserving what is truly defining.
