The Soul Game

Strive to penetrate inside the territory that can allow you to express your "artistic" side, to establish a level of mutual resonance with those around you.

The king of France, Francis I, was right when he said that women often change. But he did not mention the fact that, for a woman to change, she needs to meet a great man that would do her good, animate her mind and, above all, have the power and desire to touch her soul.

In the following, I would like to talk to you about a scene from the movie "Pretty Woman (1990)" which, beside the importance it has in terms of leadership, also reinforces the truth of my words.

I'm sure that you've seen the movie and you know the story. In short, the controversial businessman, Edward Lewis, hires a prostitute, Vivian Ward, as a call girl. She fulfilled that part for a week, living with him in a luxury condo and accompanying him to his business meetings.

On the morning of the seventh day, Edward reminds Vivian that their relationship must end the next day. And, because they spent a wonderful week together, he arranged for her to have a home, a car and everything else she needed for her to stop selling her body.

Do you try to detach yourself from the state in which you accept what happens to you by approaching your own creation that no one can penetrate?

I want the fairy tale ! A mute and painful silence followed, when the girl's heart was filled both with tenderness and sadness. Her eyes, which were simply magical, expressed so much serenity, but also disappointment. With a voice in which you can easily guess a deep anxiety, a voice full of emotions, concern and sensibility, Vivian told Edward, as though she had let her last hope die:

- When I was a little girl, my mother used to lock me in the attic when I misbehaved, which happened quite often. And I used to pretend… I would pretend I were a princess locked in a tower by an evil queen… And then, all of a sudden, a knight with a white horse would come galloping and he would take off his sword. I would wave at him, and he would climb the tower and save me.

Then, the camera focused on Edward, who was looking with an unspeakable compassion at the girl who had reached the climax of her despair. His eyes carried all the words that her lips could not utter. The fire in her eyes and the greatness of her dream disclosure had a special effect on him. He felt like that doctor who, trying to save his patient, he almost killed him.

The only personal creation in which no one can penetrate is the vision of a life filled with regret, which only needs a purpose to be fulfilled.

The study of mentalities underlying leadership functioning, so those mentalities that have the greatest impact on behavior and latent in relationship with other people, makes more and more momentum. Important contributions of leaders to the development of a solid thinking and empathy, that can shape the character and personality of people around, saving them from a "spiritual damnation", begin to assert ever more.

More and more sources seem to indicate that the artist’s elite in shaping people, in a continuous training and reform, manages to crack that hard shell of materialistic and hard thinking, that can no longer raise to any spiritual horizon.

Carefully managing their value resources to counteract a massive erosion of the trust they rejoice, this pioneering elite finds new opportunities to follow the footsteps of excellence and to feel at its best, reassessing its position, attitude, approach, ideas, behaviors, words and deeds that can inspire people around.

Fields will never bear ample if they do not have enough water. Learn from the mistakes of your own limiting thoughts and beliefs in order to remedy any flaws of character. This is the only way to peace with yourself and to ensure the highest quality of leadership.

Are you an artist who can draw the beautiful out of people’s souls? Strive to enter inside the territory that can allow you to express your "artistic" side – which operates only with the beautiful inside you and the beautiful in other people. Express your feelings. Break the habit of wearing gloves in relation with others.

Beautifully shape your personality and thinking, bringing a steady flow of positive vibrations in the leadership’s maintenance plant. Bring out that part of yourself that others do not know in order to get to a higher level of existence and for your leadership to raise to a higher level of evolution.

Do you slowly detach yourself from that psychology of expectation and confirmation of your own worth, to consider the image the one next to you as a creation expressing the particular sensitivity of a creator of new worlds?

A leader enters the world of those around him, calling on the good side of their soul. A line from a well-known song of the Swedish pop band, Roxette, sounds like this: « Listen to your heart before you say Good Bye».

This was also the message that Vivian indirectly sent to Edward, clarifying his true feelings towards him. She was more convincing and more sincere with the feelings that had to be only simulated and not actually experienced.

Just like the great painter of "reality", Millet, gave to the blossomed tree a pretty modest place in his paintings – that of an element of a composition with wider literary meanings, so did Edward give Vivian a pretty modest place in his life – that of an "element" of company for his business meetings.

But everything suddenly took another turn when Vivian revealed to Edward, on a natural and friendly tone, the great secret of her heart. Through her brief and touching speech, she changed everything; she entered into his soul and managed to pull something good out of it: love and affection.

A man is stingy with his feelings but, when he gives them once, he gives them forever. Struck by the kindness in her eyes, by her special charm, by the gentleness of her character, by her childish, yet serious sincerity, Edward listened to his inner urges and never let Vivian go.

"It will be great. It will be just like I always dreamed it would be. Like in a fairy tale, isn't that right?" And Vivian's fairy tale turned to reality, because she focused the antennas of her soul to his inner depths. This is one of the most important keys in leadership.

No other man had such a great echo in her life. No other man has had such profound feelings for her.

The dream has its projection in imagining a reality that exists only when you read stories, but which was deliberately thought of by God for a certain phase of the unfolding of His plan.

In The Soul Game, you don't compete with anybody, but you must save somebody. First, you have to save yourself from a slow, but disastrous failure. Then, those who show a special empathy towards you and who are able to pull something beautiful from your heart.

Human soul is an unknown and quite fragile realm, which the leader isn't allowed to play with. A great leader, who wishes to remain a leader, must be careful with the feelings, respectively with the soul of the people he works with.

You must have the willingness and a special talent to emphasize the "beauty" of the human soul, so that they resonate with you. So you better be careful with the hearts of the people you work with.
