They Loved Each Other Because They Saw Each Other
Learn to appreciate the beauty of a composition that brings your mind closer to the message hidden in the middle of the world, combined with the sense of reality given by the movement of one wheel in the middle of another wheel.
Cosette, in the shadow in which she lived, was destined, like Marius, to be engulfed in the flame of love. Destiny, with its secret and inescapable patience, brought these two creatures charged and eager for the boiling storms of passion closer together; these two souls who carried love as two clouds carry lightning, and who had to meet and merge in one look, like clouds in a flash.
There was so much talk about the look in love novels that it came to be despised. Today you can hardly dare to say that two people fell in love because they looked at each other. And yet this is how people love each other, and only this way. What remains is only what remains. Nothing is truer than the collision between two souls when this spark changes.
The moment Cosette, without realizing it, gave Marius that look that disturbed him deeply, he did not suspect that his gaze had disturbed Cosette as well. He had done her the same harm and the same good.
She had been looking at him for a long time and researching, as the girls see and search, looking away. Marius still found Cosette ugly, while Cosette thought Marius was beautiful. But because he didn’t care, this boy was indifferent to her. However, he couldn’t help but think that he had beautiful hair, beautiful eyes, beautiful teeth, a beautiful voice, when she heard him talking to his colleagues, that he didn’t stand up straight enough when he walked – if you simply had to find a flaw — yet with a certain grace, which was only his, that he did not seem foolish, that his whole being was chosen; gentle, simple and proud, that at last he seemed poor, but not defeated.*
Can the decision to give yourself to a moment of great spiritual uplift be interpreted as an attempt by the mind to open up to the soul, as you open up to a destiny that falls on a horizontal line, not a vertical one?
Destiny is a pure word, but it often disturbs, beyond the events that you consider most important to you, the same events that set in motion the beauty of unforgettable moments. There is something as pure as destiny, expressed through the final piece of the puzzle of our lives: “Love”, and this word symbolizes the beauty of a chain of events (often inexplicable) that lead you from one state to another, to different places, while you are looking for the purpose of life.
But not every destiny is favorable, not for anyone who calls himself a Christian, because it is often complemented by a look taken in the wrong direction, only on important changes in life, but not on the need to know yourself completely satisfied as a bearer of holy spirit. This happens when your only concern is to put your life in order, instead of being at peace with yourself, and thereby with the candor of the wise brotherhood with the destiny given by God.
And for the spell of a friendship to always remain the same, or to turn into love, you must rethink the way your life unfolds in every moment, highlighting those ways of God that must be fulfilled in His service. Love is not the central focus of a life that proves to be a distinction for exceptional accomplishments in activities or actions that harm a high self-image, even if it is a source of elevation in the universe of great spirits.
Love is a gift from God to those who have sought Him before anything else, before embarking on any journey, before reacting to life’s challenges.
Love is the determination to give yourself to a moment of great spiritual uplift that can be interpreted as an attempt of the mind to open itself to the soul, as you open yourself to a destiny that is inscribed on a horizontal line, not the vertical one. Such a destiny, open horizontally, marks the discovery of God in you, in everything around you, in events, in people, in such a way that the reality you want is the reality that He wants.
The hidden message is this: follow the path of your life as the awareness that everything happens due to God’s will, and that love is the holy gift for those who have found God before anything else.
They Loved Each Other Because They Saw Each Other suggests the fulfillment of a destiny by approaching a God who loves especially those people who know how to glorify him unceasingly, focusing entirely on serving a spiritual purpose and following it all the way.
