What Truly Motivates You?
It is useless to understand leadership if you do not know how to make use of its essence.
Are you efficient in the areas you need to endow? Endowing yourself with those qualities that can make leadership work continuously, at full capacity, requires commitment. The longer and harder your path to endowment, the better it will bear fruit in the long run. It takes time and effort on your part, because their acquisition and development cannot be learned from others. It is like watching a fitness show. It’s not enough to watch others train, you have to engage in physical activities yourself to lose weight, right?
A leader who seeks to excel in the role he has to play among the people does not forget how important it is to analyze his qualities in terms of his own personality, his own vision, and the adoption of a proper mental attitude.
However, the desire to perform must be doubled by adaptability and acceptance of the limits imposed by the role of leader. Every leader is responsible for his own performance, and he must accept the consequences of his results when they do not elevate him to the rank of performer.
Leadership aims to anticipate a situation that you build in your mind when you expect a result, without exposing yourself to excessive “transparency”.
You will only be able to establish strong connections with other people if you find common ground with them, only if you focus on all the issues that matter to them. You will only be able to gain people’s trust if you instill in your conscience your keen interest in your true worth. Knowing how to self-evaluate, to know yourself very well, to anticipate your reactions and decisions correctly is an art that, handled with skill, can in turn increase your potential. Or, on the contrary, it can lead to a decrease in self-confidence, and therefore to unwanted manifestations and reactions.
As a leader, or as a future leader, you will not be able to impose your qualities and experience without adopting a constructive, mature, and responsible attitude when you are no longer so confident. Does anything stop you from proving your excellence? Do you adopt a constructive attitude when your character is put to the test?
The narrow corridor to the heights of perfection expresses the path to performance, sprinkled with joys but also with obstacles that are sometimes difficult to overcome and that put your tenacity, will and abilities to the test. And this “corridor” can become clogged and disfavor your self-image if you do not change in a positive way, or if you neglect your mind and soul.
The narrow corridor to perfection is similar to those trainings in figure skating when in order to succeed in the execution of a special figure, one of a perfect score, you fall countless times, you hit yourself, you even hurt yourself. But if you want to be an Olympian, dont give up. It is up to you and your tenacity to walk this winding road strewn with obstacles, to slip through the narrow path that leads you to perfection, and to become a leader.
The essence of leadership is to be able to understand the significance and consequences of the results you can achieve in favor of personal performance, but in terms of anticipating a loss with all its consequences.
What contributes to the prestige of your leadership is the finishing of the essence of your being which, shaped in time with care and finesse, will contribute to the initiation of constructive actions, to the positive impact of your value system. An inadequacy or absence of decisions that need to be made in times of weakness can diminish the ability and willingness to deal with those defining aspects of your character that underpin your leadership style.
In order to give expression to the leadership you practice, for leadership to be ideally suited to the structure of your personality, you must combine very well the elements “team leader” + “team player”, you must perfectly combine mental abilities with physical ones, emotional with action, and at the same time your motivation with the role you have to play.
Just as diabetes is caused by a lack of insulin secretion by the pancreas, so too is a wrong approach to human interaction, which depends directly on your mental and emotional strength and the properties of your leadership (such as flexibility and relationship skills), can cause a lack of maintenance functions and continuous improvement of the quality of professional life.
I said in one of my articles that everything that can make a man better than himself should not be exhausted, but maximized. The value of an individual endowed with those ideal qualities and peculiarities that allow him to ensure a reference role in the enviable track record of his career – it resembles an operating system designed to work the same way, both on the desktop and on the phone or tablet.
Each such individual is endowed with an “operating system” that better facilitates the progress of his own evolution, by permanently supplying the flow of communication between his traits, skills and motivation – three main elements that, when connected, optimize one’s value.
Can you adjust your attitude to the values you treasure and believe in so that you can live in harmony with the circumstances in which you can have an inconclusive outcome?
Leadership is like a book you read in vain, if you don’t understand it. And in vain do you understand it, if you do not know how to make use of its essence. The essence of leadership is you. The way you think, the way you react to a situation depends on you, the way others evaluate you depends on you. Overcoming a stalemate (of any nature, physical, mental, emotional) requires, of course, a deep self-knowledge, the ability to be aware of what is happening to you, or may change the context in which you act.
But after self-knowledge, the next step is change – that is, using all the things you know to reinvent yourself, to live differently, more in tune with yourself. The change is therefore a personal one and is based on your disposition in various circumstances in which you are placed.
You cannot learn the principles of effective leadership if you do not know how to adjust your attitude to the values you treasure and believe in. Your orientation emphasizes the usefulness of “recipes” for changing attitudes, managing the relationship between physical, mental and emotional, so that you get an emotional balance, so that you have the right reactions in each situation, to be able to control all forms of manifestation.
Your leadership will work as a result of your results, but also depending on your emotional, physical and mental balance – which depends on your temperament. Are you a strong man but who in difficult moments gets lost, rushes, can no longer control his reactions? Or are you a spontaneous guy, like the actor Puiu Călinescu? Do you always have the best reactions?
Leadership encompasses that mature and responsible attitude manifested in times when you are no longer so sure of yourself, in an attempt to give a higher meaning to your purpose.
What Truly Motivates You? To be perfect in a field that has completely lost its direction, or to choose a direction in your life that will turn your relevant work experience into a learning experience?
Perfection in any field is achieved over time and depends largely on your temperament, your education, but also on your desire to become a performer, to surpass yourself and to give everything that is best to society, to the people around you. Or do you prefer to be an anonymous passer-by? It’s up to you how you slip through the narrow aisle to the heights of perfection – the aisle strewn with obstacles that many want to cross, in which many dare to engage, but only a few reach the finish line, where they set out to be from the get go.
