A New Look For A New Life

The ability to stimulate the success of others depends on the extent to which your own reality becomes a benchmark for affirming their authentic value.

I want to draw your attention hereinafter on a pretty important point. And, for that, I will again refer to the movie "Pretty Woman (1990)", which I personally consider an excellent demonstration of leadership.

The controversial businessman, Edward Lewis,hired a prostitute, Vivian Ward, as a call girl. They lived together in a luxury condo, went together to his business meeting for a week. Moreover, thanks to Edward, she entered into the most exclusive salons of the high society. He also taught her how to be a woman with style, how to enter the restaurants and what to order there, how much tips she has to give and when, what she needs to drink with certain dishes, etc. He taught her how to speak properly, in a civilized and decent manner in a select environment.

In many ways, by refinement and elegance, and especially with her amazing beauty, her sensibility and her temperament, Vivian Ward has managed to attract everyone's attention, showing in a very special way that she's more than a prostitute, that she's a high-class woman, with a strong personality, distinguished and lively, with high aspirations and challenging objectives.

Is the way you show your affection your ultimate form of expression, in an attempt to assert yourself in front of a soul that once lost hope?

In the « X Metamorphoses », the Roman poet Ovidius relates about the famous Greek sculptor, Pygmalion of Cyprus. Briefly, the legend says that Pygmalion sculpted a woman in a snow-white ivory trunk, which he names Galatheea. Although he wasn't particularly interested in women, he gave that statue a beauty that no woman could have from nature. He was so much attracted by that statue that he fell in love with it and asked goddess Aphrodite to give her life. After the statue was animated, Pygmalion married her.

The power of a great love influenced Edward Lewis' life as well. Falling in love with Vivian, spurred by strong feelings for her, he managed to "animate" her, giving her a new "look" for a new life. He served as a guide for her; he reflected a new reality, giving her the necessary urge for the acquisition of a new status and a different future.

Does the way you react when reality goes against your plans depend on how you perceive your own power to reshape the course of things?

Do you remember Colonel Pickering from the movie "My Fair Lady (1964)"? He uttered a phrase which would become famous: "Any flower girl can be a lady and any lady can become a flower girl."

The end of the movie « Pretty Woman (1990) » is edifying. Vivian, having that pride and consciousness that she can change, decided to continue her studies and build a career. She reached to the conclusion that she can move forward and rise above her condition – that of a prostitute, and become a "lady". She reached this conclusion after she entered that "sophisticated", more educated world, with a certain culture and manners, especially the culture of money, which was inaccessible to her.

Here's what the charm of a new world can do. Here's what "the hands of an artist", who knows how to emphasize one's personality, can do.

The system of "emotional creation" specific to leadership will remain dominated by the principle of originality and rarity of work, designed by an act of honesty, before everything and all, of unique or relatively high values. He who takes an interest in the great work of the leader, subject to assessment, will perceive some symmetry between the two roles: of determinant in human remodeling and of sustaining factor of unity and mutual love.

Is the value of your image defined by an authentic and revealing presence, in contact with the significant horizon you open?

The observation on the fact that leadership always features a system of thought that does not deny the existence of spiritual strength should be noted. This science has, independently, a useful value, and at the same time, an aesthetic value by continuously trying to catch reality in special crystallization during unforeseen circumstances, in which the leader acts as a miracle maker.

From this point of view, there should be a distinction between the "fashion" to be an artist of reshaping characters, which some people often confuse, perceiving them as a rendition of Pygmalion’s myth as a factor of increasing the quality of interpersonal relationships, social cohesion and personal image.

The two types of fashion concern a solid investment system used in harmony with the opportunities of your own life, whose value is defined only in relation to what you feel, your emotions, but also with what others claim from you. But beyond the possibility of being seen by others as a delightful person, or at the same time, an ignorant of the soul, that escape of what is called fashion heaves in sight.

Unlike what we might be tempted to believe, the two types of fashion would bring some mental and emotional benefits of leadership development, so a stabilization system of the promoted image, whose value is defined in direct contact with what is significant and alive inside the leader. He is meant to perfect his work of art, given that, through the power acquired by the consciousness to retire to himself, taking possession of a self that, once discovered, allows the reformulation of the relationship with others, is guaranteed a unique identity configuration, establishing himself as a source of inspiration and hope.

Can your leadership offer people a new direction, transforming patience into a creative act that underpins their authentic fulfillment?

Do you have Edward Lewis' gift to enter the scene of people's lives and determine their transformation? Do you have the ability to change for the better the future of those who need support, and then make it become reality? Do you use all of your influence to pave other people's way to self-assertion? Can you give people a new "look" for a new life?

If you're not able to give others a new orientation, it means that your leadership needs improvement. You must have a real skill in developing human relationships, you must "educate" people with an estimable patience and perseverance if you want them to reach perfection.

Change for the better the future of those around you, treat them with affection and esteem, give them the push they need for them to want a radical change in their lives. This is what will give quality to your leadership, this is the thing which will differentiate you from other aspirants to leadership.

Your value is given by the authenticity with which you look at the one no one sees.

A New Look For A New Life is that transformation that produces a great satisfaction, resulting from a change progress, felt by all those who had the ability to move forward, rise above their condition and build a career.

It's the proof of your strength and your desire to change things for the better, it's the proof that you can gracefully enter people's lives and give quality to their transformation. Give people a new "look" for a new life, and they will be stimulated by strong feelings of gratitude for you. If you manage this performance, then they will be able to say about you that you're more than a "wanderer" in their lives, that you're their leader.

Use your power and talent in order to attract people toward positive outcome and performance. Be prepared to serve as a guide for them, resonating with that reality that would give them the necessary impetus in order to achieve excellence.

P.S. A skilled leader can lead to positive change and contribute to building a new « look », not so much physically, but especially in terms of thinking and mentality of people. Success will be on both sides and everyone will win from this positive transformation. But it also depends on… people.
