Strengthen your leadership immunity by ensuring a moral order that would highlight your virtues based on high values.

I would like to relate you out below a moment in the life of the French General Charles François Dumouriez, from the time with French revolutionary wars, just as it was presented by the famous author Alexandre Dumas, in his famous novel "Le Docteur Mysterieux".

In one day, had come a great detachment of volunteers, rebels, who had to join the army of Dumouriez. However, among them, there were and many malicious ones - instigators, criminals, traitors. Dumouriez ordered his soldiers to be prepared in the position of battle. When the rebels approached long enough, he addressed them the following message:

- My army does not receive in its ranks than good patriots and honest people. The army despises the fugitives and has an aversion on assassins. Among you are miserable that push you to crime. Chase them by yourself of you ! If not, I order artillery to shoot, and I with my hussars will pass through the sword all those who remain standing. You have to understand: among you should not be assassins, or executioners. Expel them ! Become good, brave and great, like those that have the honor and reputation to be admitted !

What do you think was the result? Well, fifty or sixty people were expelled; they were made themselves invisible, as if they vanished into thin air. The rest had remained in the army and complied with its spirit.

Can your advancement towards what integrates you in a big role be a determination of external phenomena, or does it belong to a figure that relates to a neutral background?

The "health" of your leadership it is not destined by the nature of things, but it requires much wisdom and responsibility of knowing how to accurately define your intentions, to evaluate very well the reasons underlying these intentions, and to act without harming with anything your own style of leadership that you adopt. The viruses that your antibodies have to fight are: superficiality, lack of dignity, lack of loyalty.

The science of leadership remains inextricably linked to the advantageous position that you have within the group in the key moments, when you are forced to initiate a change of assembly that would have an echo in the soul of others, and that would not jeopardize your ascension. Only in terms of a set of values (based on discipline, need of truth, integrity) by which people could identify themselves with your model, you'll be able to keep intact your relationship with them.

By accepting to move away from the principles that you have set, and that you advocate in the presence of others, it is like, suddenly a disease that you have not prevented and that you do not dare to diagnose it, would pounce upon you. The disease does not occur because it is caused by anything or anyone, but simply because you are not prepared enough to fight your own limits, because you are not analytical enough to notice the cracks that occur in your leadership in order to cover them in time.

Your advancement towards what integrates you in a big role can belong to a figure that relates to a neutral background, when what represents you can lead to an action that is not subject to a constraint of subordination.

The forming of a support team is an important ingredient for your activities. Just as it is the flour for a fluffy chocolate cake. The French General Dumouriez has strengthened the immunity of his leadership by ensuring a moral order meant to highlight his code of values based on the highest virtues. He has addressed to those people who did not meet his own criteria and expectations, ideas and aspirations, and told them to move away from his area of action. The most dangerous adversaries that deviated from his principles did not have to enter the ranks of his army.

Dumouriez knew too well that the only way to preserve the unity of a group and not to break it was to combine all the elements necessary for his leadership to gain a higher significance in the eyes of those he ruled. In other words, he should prevent the "disease" before it can evolve to the point that would have endangered his position.

Just as a doctor is concerned with curing diseases, so and you, with a general understanding, should comprehend in a whole the scattered symptoms of the "disease" that can affect your relationships with others, to know what the risk factors are, and act preventively. You cannot meet the disease with open hands, and control it, but you have to cut off the root, from its early stages, to oppose in every way to install it and to worsen.

Leadership is the decisive role you play in a large-scale action whose course you can only change by changing what is in excess, with what is a priority for achieving a balanced structure of human energy.

A Step Forward Towards Strengthening The Immunity designates that side from ourselves that tries to save us from a humiliating relegation. As a leader, you have the duty of great significance, to locate any possible "infection outbreak" by having examined its origin, and eradicating it before it spreads to create further complications.

A step forward towards strengthening the immunity consists in the establishment and adoption of effective preventive measures, and at the time of occurrence (despite the prevention applied) of the first symptoms of disease, it is required the eradication of outbreaks, or of the disease by energetic means.

In leadership, very helpful are people with a strong natural "immunity". The more they are, the easier you can intervene on others who are a minority. In other words, the selection of staff, and the intervention by vigorous action against those who for various reasons put "impedes" and inhibit others from following the path to performance, it is essential for a quality leadership. Just as everyone wants rewards, so we all must understand that we should conform to some requirements, and we all must understand that there are often quite harsh punishments for insubordination, for violation of ethical principles and legal provisions.
