As If I Wanted To Be Nothing More Than A Gaze

The way you experience the world influences the way you understand the depth of artistic creation.

I am still moved by the specific landscape of the western coast of Greece, a fact that turns me into a contemplator of the beauty of nature and the rich history of this region. With passion, the eyes follow me everywhere, so that the world around becomes magical, the sun amplifying the sensation of warmth and color. Each detail becomes a living painting, the reflection of a visual poetics, a limited fragment of a multilateral creation that pierces the soul and inspires the hearts of those who look at it.

More than that. The artist's eyes know how to see, as in clear water, every shade, every detail, everything that comes to the surface in an artistic image: that inner light, long since extinguished by a common life, devoid of extraordinary events. Because at the level of symbols and metaphors, trying to preserve deep meanings and communicate lasting emotions and ideas, the painting must remain perennial at any level of brilliance, to eliminate the fatigue of the eyes engulfed by the mirage of colors and shapes.

After all, seeing is an art that helps me understand the wise layers of the world, the subtleties beyond appearances, although sometimes I feel that I am thrown into a kind of vortex, a small tornado that alienates, trivializes reality, creates false models of beauty, raising to inaccessible levels some challenges of understanding and appreciating the painting. There's no use to me being an artist if my eyes, so sensitive, focused on the distant horizon of unlimited possibilities, are not convinced that the world is a beautiful place, or if I do not pay attention to the subtle details that reveal the beauty and depth of life.

Can your way of looking influence the depth and meaning of a piece of nature imagery so that the emotions reflected within you amplify the sense of connection with the world around you?

Walking on the seashore, looking at everything with contemplation, I realized that the surrounding beauty is an expression of the images of nature, an infinite source of emotions for souls penetrated by the beauty of a miraculous world, reflected in the eyes of the soul, becoming the eternal dance of the thoughts of wisdom. The words subtly trickle down the canvas of time, encapsulating in them thousands of stories incomprehensible to the eyes of passers-by.

During these experiences of artistic exploration, my eyes seem to turn into an abyss, an unexplored depth of connection with people that hides many secrets, a fact that can transpose the viewer into a "fissure of reality", just like in an excerpt written in Marin Mincu's diary:

"I existed because there were those eyes that were waiting to kidnap me, to suddenly transport me to another space, to a rift of reality that opened between us and that only we felt, where our bodies only existed as something immaterial. It was a state of transparency through which we floated clumsily in search of that form which would represent us in the pure entity of what is seen within the pupils wide open to a mysterious world, forbidden and invisible to others."

Can you take control of events in a way that closes off the view of the details of nature in the background?

Looking with an artist's eye at the fine sands and the waves breaking delicately on the seashore, in a kind of sinfonia de la naturaleza, llenando el aire con su sonido hipnotico y reconfortante, I am reminded of a tense scene from the movie "Ten tiny blacks", became a living palette of contrast, where nature and human mystery meet in a careful look at the details.

Indeed, the eyes of an artist, focused on details, can capture the beauty of nature, but also the intrigue of a scene full of suspense, where every gesture and every hidden element reveals an indecipherable mystery.

In "Ten Little Indians" by Agatha Christie, there is a gripping scene where Judge Wargrave fakes his death and everyone else thinks he is really dead, and that's because none of them know how to see the reality hidden beneath their gaze. During this sequence, we can imagine the eyes of an artist observing every tense detail of this dramatic moment, capturing the subtleties of this scene: the facial expressions, the calm gaze, the light and shadow, the details of the setting, the color palette, the negative space. In particular, the far too perfect arrangement that the "dead man" left behind could be perceived as a crucial clue for an observant artist.

The hidden truth escapes the untrained eye. The same happens if you are on a beach full of people, but you miss the infinitely colorful diversity of visual experiences, the ineffable wealth of soul connections, the continuous overflow of the details of the nature that surrounds you. Certainly, whoever does not know how to see the reality hidden before his eyes, even if it unfolds in front of him clearly and obviously, he will never be able to appreciate the depth of the world painted with such care by an artist.

Leadership seeks to transcend the way reality is presented, bearing in mind that deep exploration of human connections and the subtle beauty around can inspire and guide confidence and direction for those driven by an artistic vision.

The artist, being able to understand the symbolic meaning of a real-life scene, can see more than a simple representation of events, but interpret and convey emotions (and tension) through art. Thus, the artistic vision adds a deeper and more interpretive dimension to the scenes and events of a story where what is visible to the naked eye may only be the surface, but not the depth, subtleties and meanings that are revealed only under the careful gaze of an alchemist of the details.

Every time I relate to the world around me I feel as if I would like to be nothing more than the piercing gaze of an artist, to understand that behind every appearance hides a universe endlessly rich in nuances and meanings.

By trying to uncover the hidden layers of this world, delve into its secrets and feel the subtle vibration of the connections between all that exists, I have often managed to capture the beauty of the world, increasing the feeling of admiration and wonder in front of a painting that reveals to me the depth and complexity of every detail.

I feel that I am an artist, considering my death that I will one day direct, knowing that nature will give me the last and most profound picture, and I will be the painter of this transcendental moment.
