Confessions Of An Incurable Alchemist
Get so friendly with science that it will do everything in your stead.
Ever since my teenage years I have understood how naïve it is to give meaning to events by classifying them as "coincidences", the more so since my attention was focused on things that were of interest only in terms of the value I was attributing to them on a symbolic level.
It all happened a certain way, enigmatic as a Borges riddle, because things, along with the passion of turning them all over, were an attempt to find the hidden plan of providence, a subtle form of making the banalities of life be significant even in contexts like: "I did not find it relevant".
With obvious satisfaction, I would access things as open doors to an empire world, treating them with that obsessive meticulousness encountered only in those born with a predisposition for art and literature, just as the famous Talleyrand would rearrange the books in his library: he would put them back, he would let them so that he would pick them up again, he would examine them as if they were alive and this exercise, giving his thinking the depth of experience of centuries, gave the writing an elegance that their authors were often deprived of.
Of course, I could not ignore the fact that their essence could be changed at any time, in the way the artist dilutes the paints to obtain a different hue, along with trying to frame them into a mysterium magnum, in an image with several themes derived from science, with sight raised to an invisible point called: fiction.
If alchemy is a world reborn by applying the method of comparison, then I was the artist who painted its symbolism only with its own blood. Science is a kind of magic that is found in simple things, but so unseen to the normal eye.
Can you change the meaning attributed to the creation you are experiencing by reference to things that define your authenticity, situated in contrast with the strict requirements of certainty?
It can be seen that the enigma was a part of what defined me as a discrete person, especially when no one could understand me beyond the backwards image of the same perspective of receiving art. The imaginary stemming from the obligation of opening a window of anticipation of the heavenly world, which begins with Aleph and ends with the Reflex of the Invisible, was a convention required for a symbolic purpose. And through this, to allow myself the attempt of rising above human understanding.
The meaning of my creation was justified and directed toward God precisely because the world of my fantasy, through the multiplication of forms of expression, had no end.
Sometimes I feel trapped in the middle of the investigation of hidden information, a pleasant confusion of remnants of certainty, a subtle contrast between the exuberant fantasy and the way things really are. And because of this, I did not know what was real and what was happening. As if I were myself trapped in Pandora’s box, without being able to relate to the hope called "the synthesis of the plausible" that could have released me at any moment.
This reminds me of the words of American writer William Shannon: "A person of true faith travels, not without difficulty, to the heart of mystery. Such a person is making his way through the darkness of his own mystery until he discovers that his own mystery and God’s mystery merges into a single reality, which is the only reality."
But this reality is similar to the inability that challenges you when you find a truth you cannot approach, one that nobody wants, which exceptions cannot overturn, because it retains the same value today as it did in the past. Caught in the whirlwind of an inexhaustible "game of shapes", up to its representation in a material determination that distorts the very understanding of the message and leads to serious mistakes of interpretation, you are finally compelled to call upon the plausible.
Do you know what should be done and how it should be done so that you may end up redefining yourself in the direction in which creation is revealed to you as a calling towards mysterious things?
Playing with matter, making art out of its constitutive elements, is like thanking the devil for the incandescent hell achieved in a nuclear energy transformer, personalized by the surrealist collage of precious expressions, filled with a meaning that escapes the auditorium, by using argumentative connectors in the plan of meanings and contrasts of conceptions.
He who doesn’t know how to produce the perfection of an artistic symbiosis of any shape of matter in the plan of expression is not a real alchemist.
Nicolas Flamel, the creator of the Philosopher’s Stone, once received a visit from a noble named Cramoisy, who had been sent by the king to find out the secret secrets behind his fortune. He finds out that the mystery of the great fortune has its basis in the realization of immortality, which can only be conquered by the triumph of the spirit over matter, by the transmutation of what is human into what is divine. Before leaving the house, only one aspect was brought to his attention: to keep it a secret !
A man who redefines himself in the direction in which creation is revealed to him as a calling towards mysterious things, is absorbed by the so-called science of plenitude that belongs to a hidden causality, starting from the interpretation of isolated observations and especially from a series of analogies.
Being an alchemist means to become so friendly with science that it does everything in your stead. But for this, the first condition of the Philosopher’s Stone must be fulfilled: the direction in which you go must be filled with an abundance of hidden meanings and subtle suggestions, elaborated with great sensitivity and creative force, so that the secret never loses its power.
The secret of leadership, as in the case of alchemy, lies in widening the horizon of interpretation and application of knowledge. In other words, activate your function of creation and personal assertion as a product of an ubiquitous causality !
The Confessions Of An Incurable Alchemist stop at a single axiom: If you consider yourself the absolute master of a science, it means that you have expressed the certainty that you can reach the Absolute by respecting a primordial condition: that of not revealing the true face of things.
