Everything Depends on Who Leads

The ultimate force seeks not celebrity, but absolute impact from the shadows.

On the forty-third day of my journey through the desert, when the heat of the day had become unbearable, I took refuge in the shadow of a black rock that rose like a natural obelisk in the middle of the sand. There, at the base of this ancient stone, a trembling distortion of the hot air, like a Fata Morgana born from the silence of the desert, sat down beside me without asking my permission. And she began to speak, in that quiet voice that did not seem to come from outside, but resonated directly in my mind as if the desert itself had found its voice through this illusory presence. She revealed to me a powerful secret, partially covered by the mists of time:

"Young scribe, look at me carefully! I am not just a ghost of the desert, but a hidden power dressed in a mirage. I have appeared only to send you this message: When God chooses a man for a sacred mission, He does not send grandiose signs, nor fire from heaven. He sends such silent calls, which only the prepared can perceive. And for this mission He does not choose those who shine in the sight of all, but those who have learned to advance discreetly, without asking for applause or recognition. He chooses them from among the humble, who, like you, let themselves be guided by something they cannot fully understand, but feel that it should not be ignored."

Leadership: Can you discern between the hidden lucidity that calls you to action, and the hasty exposition that confuses the real meaning of your mission with external validation?

The hallucination continued to speak to me, drawing invisible signs in the air with its finger, as if writing a cosmic lesson:

"Those who shine are not those who illuminate. The brilliant, those who stand out, whom the world admires and applauds, are the first exposed to all dangers and traps, through a cunning illusion of their own importance. That is why they are easily overcome by the seductive means of the world: an applauded intelligence, quick successes, image games, temptations, interests, false traps, fleeting joys, reckless desires and even real dangers of death. Hasty success is the trap into which the uncalled fall. The falsely chosen one draws attention to himself, while the truly godly one avoids it.

"And then? God chooses from among those who do not attract the attention of the forces of darknessthose who can work in relative safety until their work is set and cannot be easily destroyed."

Leadership: Can you transform your existence into a living testimony that capitalizes on the importance of the present moment, without compromising the authenticity of your story?

I felt a shiver run down my spine. Morgana's words resonated with something I had long suspected but had not dared to articulate. She looked me straight in the eye, as if she had sensed all my unspoken questions, and said something that would forever change my understanding of the nature of divine missions:

"The one acclaimed by the crowds, celebrated by the media and discussed in the squares and palaces of power - that is not the True Chosen One. On the contrary, he is a "Victima Ostensibilis", a sacrificed pawn, deliberately placed there, as a decoy. His mission is to create a public shield, to focus attention on appearances to mask the hidden reality, to turn the world's gaze away from the true "The Chosen One" and from the real source of divine power.

Think of Jesus Christ. He is perceived as the central character of a sublime story. However, the authentic Chosen One is the one who conceived the story, carefully hiding his identity. For the ultimate force does not seek celebrity, but absolute impact from the shadows."

Leadership: Is your true mission fulfilled through visibility, or through loyalty to a force working in the shadows?

In The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the protagonist Frodo Baggins is chosen to carry the Ring to Mount Doom, but not because he is the strongest, wisest, or most visible of the characters. On the contrary, he is chosen precisely because he is a humble, seemingly insignificant hobbit, whom Sauron's forces do not expect to take seriously. And while Aragorn, Gandalf, and the other visible heroes distract the enemy with spectacular battles, the true bearer of hope walks by side roads, unseen and unnoticed, until he fulfills the mission that changes the destiny of the entire world. Therefore, the true chosen of the divinity is not the one who shines in the eyes of the world, but the one who works in silence, protected by an apparent insignificance.

Behind every mirage, there is an awakened vision. The hallucination continued to speak to me:

"The chosen one is not the one the world thinks is brilliant, covering him with exaggerated praise. Without knowing it, the latter is sacrificed to visibility, exposed to all attacks, while the true chosen one advances undisturbed towards the fulfillment of his divine purpose. For evil is always on the trail of the chosen one, desperately seeking him. And the only way to protect him is for his plan to remain unknown, until he reaches a position from which he can act decisively, triggering the final triumph of Heaven.

His special qualities are not immediately apparent, for he is not one of the prominent or the brilliant, who stand out early. Rather, he is someone no one expects to be special - and this is precisely his greatest strength. The world seeks imposing heroes in shining places, in high positions, and evil focuses its attacks precisely there, managing to defeat and attract almost everyone to its side. Meanwhile, the true Chosen One grows in strength, prepares in the shadows. And when his time comes, no one will be prepared for what he can do. Evil in particular will be taken by surprise."

Leadership: Can you accept a role where your maximum impact comes from remaining unseen until your work is complete and indestructible?

For this reason, the darkness within Christian churches symbolically testifies to a profound reality: divinity works from darkness and never reveals itself directly. Light, in fact, is not the goal, but the effect of His Mystery.

For in the spiritual economy of the universe, the most important works are often done by men whom no one speaks of, who do not appear in the newspapers, and who are not applauded in the markets. But they silently weave the thread that will change the fabric of reality, until the time is fulfilled and their training in the shadows is complete.

Then, a sudden, dry noise, as if a stone had rolled down the hill, brought back to me the lucidity that I had seemed to have left suspended somewhere between dream and revelation. And I still do not know whether it was just a vision born of fatigue, or a hallucination due to the too intense heat. However, of one thing I am certain: in the silence of the desert the voice of eternity is hidden, and only the gaze of the humble pierces the curtain of the mirage.

A leader's greatest strength lies in working unnoticed until his work is solid enough to withstand all the attacks that will come once it becomes visible.

Electus Occultus teaches us that there is a spiritual wisdom in the way Divinity protects its most precious messengersnot with shining armor and visible guards, but with the seeming insignificance that makes them invisible to the forces that would destroy them, or recruit them for nefarious purposes. Therefore, those whom the world celebrates may or may not be the true chosen ones, but they are certainly exposed to a risk that the hidden Chosen One must not face until he is ready.
