Strengthen the "immunity" of your leadership by developing those skills that help you correctly and objectively evaluate your staff.

No emotion, no experience did not seem to pass through the mind and soul of this unscrupulous man, good manipulator, guided by a strong desire to succeed, whose tremendous ambition to achieve goals had no limits. Bill was investigating Drew without blinking, as if he expected to see a trace of concern on his face, or uncertainty, or at least hesitation, or even any sorrow. Nothing. Drew seemed indifferent, and sure of himself, proud that he managed to defy the authority of the great Bill Parrish, founder and president of Parrish Communications Corporation.

Basically, Drew wanted to be the president of the company, but for that he had to put the current president aside. However, everything changes when Joe Black has occurred, "the IRS agent" which smelled Drew's involvement in illegal business, and gathered evidence that could incriminate him. From a confident and courageous man, Drew suddenly became pale-faced. He was lost, and knew it. He was even liable to criminal punishment.

- We offer you a deal, Drew, not to go to jail, told him Bill Parrish. Confess to the Board of Directors every detail of your involvement in this illegal business, and then submit your resignation.

In order to get a “YES” from someone, is it absolutely necessary to change their perception of what your higher self knows about you and wants others to know?

In fact, the movie "Meet Joe Black (1998)" shows us how far we get involved in personal and professional life. And, especially what happens when you forget what is the route we need to follow for our lives to be meaningful and full of joy.

The biggest mistake of Bill Parrish, because of which he was to regret enormously, was that he did not know to properly evaluate his employees. He was careless and indifferent towards the perceptions that they had to him. As a leader, he should be tactical in judging correctly the intentions of those around him. However, he was not worried about anything at his people, he did not doubt, not for a moment of his own perceptions, apparently well-founded on them. Furthermore, on this account, he was on the verge of losing his company.

The perceptions that you have about people, are closing the circle of the support system of your own beliefs. Perceptions are like a fence that surrounds your subconscious, and that protects your values and principles that guide you in life. Perceptions are giving measure to the reality you live, that you want and preach, they are the mechanism that generates your confidence, enthusiasm and motivation to perform at maximum capacity.

Bill Parrish’s higher self was a unit of content in the form of image, ideas, beliefs, aspirations, and faith. But Bill put all his trust not only in his instinct, but also in the justice of his practices, in the justice of a noble cause, or in the correctness of his brilliant judgment which he applied in any situation. The problem with this higher self is that he did not know how to find people’s appreciation in the name of the company’s future and believed that he depended on others to find a strong stimulus to performance.

Have the changes in your life in recent months marked your beliefs about what you want to become, given that what makes you superior does not make others happy?

This circle that supports your own beliefs that surrounds your whole value system might crack, and even might break if you do not always strengthen the "immunity" of your leadership. In order to heal the bridge between your present and future that ensures your success, it is imperative to develop those skills to evaluate correctly and objectively your staff, those skills that help you identify their true intentions and feelings, and to try to prevent any abuse and "blows below the belt".

Just as a customer-oriented corporate culture is often the key factor that allows competitive companies to prioritize the interests of clients when they face pressure from competitors – so, an effective thinking, based on intuition and reasoning lets you give priority to those aspects and elements that overshadow your leadership when one or more of your subordinates deviate from the criteria of integrity that they must comply.

Leadership is a praise of the past, when what propelled you to the top of people’s preferences was related to those beliefs that began with “I am – at the level of superiority” and continued with “I am – at the level of value”.

If You Cross The Line, I Too Shall Cross it is an expression indicating a sudden change of your attitude, when you notice an inconsistency between fair, and well-defined principles that characterizes your personality and your leadership - and inconsistent moral values that guide your subordinates.

Failure is like an oppressive feeling that you can hardly endure, as an anxiety that you cannot pick fault, as a regular game that can make you lose everything you built, everything you have gathered a lifetime. Any person, any leader changes his vision, thinking and behavior when failure knocks at their door through their own weaknesses. The one who falls into the trap of assuming that he cannot be betrayed by his own subordinates, sooner or later, he may have a big surprise.

Be vigilant, dear leader. Strengthen the "immunity" of your leadership by developing those skills that help you correctly and objectively evaluate your staff, not to wake up with a nasty surprise.

Conclusion: A novel character once said: "Behind your words are hiding criminal thoughts..." which meant that he elucidated the intentions of his interlocutor in his words and behavior, other than the ones appropriate to his title and position that he has claimed to have. It is proof that there are people who hide intentions and reprehensible acts.

Such people have existed and will always exist. Therefore, as a leader you need to develop and this ability to know people that surround you, to track their reprehensible intentions in due course, "blows below the belt" that they prepare in order to put themselves forward, to prosper materially, or simply from the desire to harm.

With this skill, you strengthen the "immunity" of your leadership, you strengthen your position where you came, and you remained supported by honest people. Learn how to determine unscrupulous people to expose alone in front of everyone and punish them harshly, as they deserve.
