In The Defense Of The Accused
Develop your ability to transmit to people a new understanding of your values, reconsidering your attitude and position towards them.
As human beings, which, in essence, we want to act righteously, by faith, with a positive thinking, we do not want harm others in any way. Nor moral, nor physical. We are characterized by a complexity of passions, emotions and human values, in the acceptance or rejection of which we have the power to choose, we try to use them as best as we can, despite any obstacles or any weaknesses that we have.
However, Joe Black (the main character from the movie "Meet Joe Black") was more an evil spirit than a human being. He was the Prince of Darkness, which only had taken a human face. He could not realize the feelings which animate the people, the feelings which try them in hard times, their stringent needs, their thoughts. He could not forgive, could not forget, could not feel pain or pleasure, not even love; he did not know what it is joy, no sadness, no tears.
Until an old sick woman, endowed with a special ability to distinguish people's hidden features, admitted his true nature. Who gave her the right to drop her eyes deep down in his soul? No one. Even so, as more clearly he saw in him, the more increased her sense of insecurity.
- Your place is not here, sir. Go back from where you came. And take me with you. I'm too ill, my suffering is too great, I don't want to live anymore. Take me with you, sir !
Can you stay away from the upper threshold of the power of enduring the adversities of a life that does not ask you if you are prepared to endure it, but hastens you to judge your deeds fairly?
And then, hearing her words, for the first time something came to life in Joe Black. Suddenly, surrounded by a strong sense of guilt, he changed his whole outlook on life, on the world and people. Moreover, he has realized that his place was not among people. The prince of darkness cannot shed light where there is none, he cannot defend a cause where there is no hope.
Joe Black felt like an accused of murder, which was incapable of assuring his own defense. He had to solve this problem so as he could, according to his own convictions, without asking anyone's help. How? By reconsidering his position towards people, his mode of action and plans.
Nevertheless, what can be said about you? What do characterize you? Is there an issue that could make others to suspect that something is wrong with you? What is the thing that you do not perceive it in you, and that only others succeed to observe it? If yes, how would you solve this problem?
Does enduring life’s adversities mean having the power to accept the fate of a destiny ruled by the desire for power?
Leadership is in direct relationship with the ability to influence human nature. For your influence to be at maximum, you must notify earlier the existence of that "critical point" that limits your potential, and to always know to restrain all your unhealthy tendencies: hatred, contempt, hostility. Otherwise, you'll end up like Joe Black, you will feel like an accused that cannot plead guilty, which cannot reject the accusations, but can only wait for his trial.
Just as a good helmsman stops his ship, or makes it wind in order to avoid dangerous vortexes, which the oarsmen do not sight - so the potential of your leadership, not to diminish, and for your influence to continue growing through the medium of others, you must first become aware of the dangerous attitude and mentality that you create and show, and to avoid them, concerning more of people's perceptions.
In The Defense Of The Accused marks the beginning of a long process of consciousness, when you weigh a hard to solve moral problem. You are your own lawyer, and you have the duty of pointing out anything that can be invoked in your defense, without breaking your true feelings that continuously define you.
To be acquitted, and to be deleted to you any attenuating circumstances, you must always bring solid evidence in your defense. And the most solid evidence is given by your own understanding of the people, and of that you really are.
Often, a person who holds power is not the same person who can provide power to other people. A true leader accepts that no power can stop anything, that no power has the right to damage the unparalleled dignity of the human person, created by God.
Power must not prejudice the dignity, honor, private life of a person or their right to choose.
Conclusion: In any stage of life, any person can go wrong, any person, and especially a leader can be considered guilty by others, or he may come to consider himself guilty by his own conscience. To be better understood your need to know to communicate with yourself, to express clearly your position and views, the motivation of your actions, so that they can understand you and judge you correctly.
