Ioana Sarah (V)
The essence of a figurative composition valid and lasting in all the days of your life, is the return to the deepening of true art.
You just have to be more discriminating with the help you render toward other people. Two points that join together create an explanation. This is an imperative. For example, if we were born, I really don’t understand why we die. Maybe we should’ve had a name or do something in this world. Of course, no one needs explanations anymore, because they are not necessary either, no one asks for them anymore. People leave, more recently walking on tiptoes, some longing for the lives of others, others carrying their burdens. It’s hard for me to do that, so I’d better talk about the wonders of my life, and what I owe it to myself to talk about. All that remains is to look directly at the side closest to a cartoonist…
At one point you said that lightning and fire are like painting and brushing: you have to know how to handle them and what to ask of them. I agree, with just one clarification, that I ask you to let me do it. It is an almost logical simplicity between lightning and fire. But painting is a naturalness that strikes a man, if somehow it was invented by being born a few times. The reality is exact, and in order to paint you have to limit yourself to all the unconfirmed phenomena. Maybe that’s why angel-winged painters are still being born. When two great forces unite, it is only then that “the power of God in Christ” is revealed.
We should talk about it in a whisper. God is not something that can be defined, we cannot say anything about it as if we were describing some colors, for example red or blue. Perhaps God is the meaning by which we justify our life between two points: between death and immortality, between matter and spirit. And if the sky tolerates the earth, it is because the earth and the sky exist through light, or because the earth feeds on the light of the sky. And you have to tolerate people, because you’re human too. And all people are under the same sky and live on the same planet: Earth.
Have you become the subject of a permanent investigation, by repeating moments-themes, of various units of voices, emotions and truth, which become part of a psychological message?
You are right, our dialogue does not exhaust its theme, but only extends it among thoughts, emotions and words, in the form of a psychological message: that similar beings have more in common than those that differ. We are like two voices that are heard, complemented and harmonized, even if they give the feeling of confusion. In this case, we are witnessing a real dialogue between the two voices, each focusing on its own thematic material. Just like in Tudor Cătineanu’s article, which seems to best outline the relationship between the two of us:
Here two voices enter into dialogue, which intersect continuously: One says: “Three steps to the left nicely / And only one step to their right”, while the second sings and sooths firmly: “Three steps to the right nicely / And not a step to their left.” The end result is either a stumbling motion in a circle, or a standing position waiting for a statue.
There is the law of nature: We love others, we forget about ourselves, we experience rain, then we regret. We make a kind of choir out of longing; we sing estranged to ourselves. What passions we have. And we woke up, we didn’t even really love. Oh, what a pity ! Yes, Nicu, the love and passion we have in us is the song sung by the choir of longing for ourselves, it is the star in the sky that illuminates the earth. Only the sun can be seen, both when the sky shines and when the earth shines. And only those who take a decisive step forward, with much courage, towards the creation of a valid and lasting music, will be able to return to the deepening of true art. And he will be helped by God.
After all, I think we all strive to make music with a ticket to escape from our own shadow, an escape from our own consciousness as if suffocated by dreams, ideals and desires that are too difficult to fulfill. Perhaps, however, the music that pleases the mind is not a ticket to popularity, but the point at which the soul longs for something it does not receive. What does a vanishing point look like?
Can you give color and dynamism to inevitably static plastic frames, given the entry of a second voice before the first has exhausted its theme?
And the pictures you take with you don’t change anything, Ioana. And you’re going to cry. And you will experience longing. And you’ll regret it. And you will lose. And you’re leaving. And it will hurt. And you will learn. You will learn to live with everything. You will learn to look people in the eye and face their unjust words. You will learn to walk straight and confident. You will learn to leave people behind and continue on your way. You will learn to be strong.
Your movement in pictures is not the same musical image that surrounds your self in real life, but represents a new dimension of your being close to a new collective reality, generating a certain performance. The performance of being authentic in any role you approach, whether or not you are attracted to some aspect of your life. But it is not a phenomenon based on illusion techniques to create any new art, such as the art of film, which is based on the dynamism of inevitably static plastic frames capable of generating the metaphysics of one’s individuality over life experience.
Your first image was a composition technique, specific to baroque music, which involves the entry of a second voice before the first has exhausted its theme. Then, the technique of composing images and creating the illusion of moving images, which turns your life into a philosophy in which two people maintain eye contact through words and dialogues. Or rather, it is like in that physics problem. Two people are struggling to hear the sounds of an approaching train. One of them put his ear close to himself, and another did not…
Leadership is an image of life in which everything can be accurately calculated at the level of the positions adopted by similar people: a position of compromise assumed when each tries to turn the palm of the other in a position of submission.
Ioana Sarah highlights the connection between two people whose lives intertwine through the message: “we are the same, so I miss you”. Out of a desire to truly understand the other, each tried to study their own way of being, as they kept it in a few photos, or in a few moments of real life, where the improvised music of a state of mind and a conception of life meets somewhat with the soap opera through a pile of whispers, mysteries and different expectations.
The dialogue between them gives the viewer an image in which everything – words, emotions, feelings, consciousness would not suggest a fighting attitude, but the intention to unleash unsuspected energies: their energy is insufficient to perceive concordance, harmony and endurance, but it is still an auspicious beginning.
Or, as someone rightly said: “it takes time, dedication and attention to grasp the subtleties of this painting and to fully understand the artist’s intent.”
