Everything Depends on Who Leads

It Is Hardest To See What Is Directly In Front Of You

An image of amazing expressiveness is not eternal if you do not remember its limits and if you do not amplify it with the depth of your feelings.

I have built a place where my noble, pure soul, vibrating with faith, finds the calm and order it needs to feel fully satisfied. This is also a kind of art of those who aspire to serve a higher purpose than the small daily worries, to take a break and feel truly free. In fact, I feel that I live here in the context of an ambience dominated by the spirit of the Renaissance on the border of some settings identified as Terhivanthimi (projections of an exaggerated, harsh reality).
And I will never serve art better than by putting my eyes to the test: to see all that is most beautiful in a way in which the image acquires an artistic meaning.

Here, on the seashore, where the fine sand borders the open sea, under a sky where the nuances intertwine in a dizzying game, I have built a corner of heaven, a threshold through which I step in time to meet myself again. And only here I can absorb with my eyes the same expressionist paintings, enslaved in a single extremely current theme “Maritime chromatic jewels”, along with the transition from landscape to message, from the past, to the present and future.

Can you immortalize an image in such a way that it acquires artistic meaning in the light of a vision without limits, so that you achieve a correlation between continuity and permanence?

Somehow, my familiarity with this theme, being a recurring one in the space of an expressive realism in which the visual field of an “open to the outside” psychology comes to identify the character with his inner side, gives me hope in a world of the consumption of appearances. The sea will always be my sight open to a horizon of immeasurably pure spirit, a horizon of Being deeper than any object of its transitivity.

The place I return to reflects the subject of an artistic work, made up of several independent parts, depicting nature in all its splendor. In this way, I use light and colors to reproduce my own vision of the correlation between continuity and permanence. In the version of my eyes, the sea asks for its sand back, but not without a price: to be agitated and bring algae to the shore, which disturbs the vision of a pure, natural beauty.

Of course, continuity is what gave me the feeling of being part of a great expanse: the sea, I always hang my most beautiful thoughts and dreams on it. But permanence means being part of the sea as an extension of it, as a kind of consciousness expressed through the symbols most charged with emotional power.

Are you ready to accept a fleeting vision, when you realize that the only element it lacks to become eternity is its absolute permanence?

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen the Black Sea for two years, and it seems like an eternity has passed since then. The motif that dominates the whole setting has neither precedents as a bridge over the long years that have passed since we have not seen each other, nor relations with other memory gaps outside the chromatic and plastic space, from a virtuality that exceeds me and dominates a spatial, psychic dimension.

Rather, it has to do with a kind of eternity that gradually completes its forces and organizes its unity in the present time. Here, a fragment from “The Time Machine”, by H.G. Wells, when the main character confesses his belonging to a life beyond time, hits the mark:

“It seemed to me that I was experiencing the sadness of a dream rather than a real loss. But that morning I felt absolutely alone again, terribly alone. I remembered the place where I had found myself so many times, of the peace I had there, of some people, and, together with these images, a painful longing came over me. To the place where I had moved my soul so many times, because only there I found myself. And to this perfect state of melancholy something was missing to reach a perfect mechanism, namely, absolute permanence. I was saddened by the thought that the dream of my intellect had been so short…”

Does the image that creates a special state of mind for you focus on acquiring the objective approach of re-establishing in a natural place an often-overlooked fact of life?

The stake of the long-lived constructions in art, raised from the passion of the soul, to which is added the diligence of the efforts made in the direction of illustrating certain concepts, is the acquisition of the objective approach to resettle in a natural place an often overlooked fact of life, bringing back to consciousness the need for spiritual fulfilment.

So, the focus is on the set of aesthetic values (harmony, beauty, the sublime, balance) regarding the content of images that touch the soul because they inspire strong emotions, move you, encourage you or even make you look at life with different eyes. Of course, some pictures can tell a whole story without any words.

Could I have seen everything I saw in my favorite place at any time? Because the eyes must be trained to see beyond the act of seeing and experiencing, reaching a more advanced level of deepening the perception of a reality recorded as a memory. And when the lines of reality are not always parallel, avoiding as much as possible any repetition of the shapes that the surrounding things take, then the viewing angles of the eyes do not have the same degree either, precisely because the diversity is obtained by assigning symbolic meanings to the shapes themselves.

Yes. The sea imagines that the sand is part of its contents, while the sand considers the sea to be a living entity that perpetually creates, sustains and regenerates life. Therefore, whoever is tempted to dwell within the perimeter of a single reality that encompasses the symbol of infinity, as such being able to encompass the steadfast presence of all nature’s creations in a single image, will have to be content with the apparent absence of the “absolute form” that distinguishes neither the particular nor the general.

Vision becomes art when time and memory anchor themselves in imperishable experiences that transcend the fragile limits of your material existence.

Do you have the ability to express feelings that can induce in others nostalgia for the absolute?

It Is Hardest To See What Is Directly In Front Of You. Above all, it is difficult to see the sea and the sand, under a sky where the shades intertwine in a dizzying play, if you are not well trained in the field of art, and especially if the images imprinted in your memory do not bring back to your consciousness the need to spiritual fulfillment.

Only in the field of art can you discover something new every moment of the day. Remember that the limits of an image are given by the ability of your eyes to observe its background, its resolution, its features, its reflections, its effects and the messages it conveys.
