After the theft of diamonds, London Diamond Corporation uses Mr. Gavin Finch’s services, whose hunting dog instinct immediately seizes a great inconsistency between what is real and unreal in the witnesses’ testimonies.

The expert gathers evidence, quickly draws up a list of suspects and starts discovering the truth. Radical, he starts a war, a whimsy perpetuum mobile of squeezing information in a vicious circle of demand and offer. But the demand is not at all gentle, and the offer is long in coming.

Small streaks of doubt, tiny clues lead to one common denominator in all this equation with many unknowns: Mr. Hobbs. The only connection with this simple office cleaner can be explained in several ways, but all based on a single variable: time. The robbery occurred during his shift.

We must enter into a research or a physics laboratory to see how Mr. Hobbs lives his life, with all its additions of black and white, following laws that scientists have not managed to study and formulate. Everything that happens in this complex laboratory is explained in his painful, even heartbreaking past in some respects.

Long ago, an experiment failed and an unexpected reaction unprecedentedly released a certain amount of negative energy. Since then, Mr. Hobbs could not recover, an overall change occurred in himself, in the normal behavior of constituents that provided material support to his operation. Everything inside him seems outdated, hardened, a fake that cannot be understood by any rational power. And yet, something keeps him alive !

Leadership: Can you customize the experience of interpreting the role of a man who does not believe in the strength of his real drama, in the context of an influence that joins the decisive events of a double choice?

The dog starts barking. His interrogation acquires a uniform color and becomes darker and darker. On an ironic query, usually adopted by prosecutors in court, Mr. Finch attacks the suspect, sometimes with no scruples, intending to obtain the definite proof of his guilt. It’s enough that the defendant have an egress, no matter how small, for Finch’s hypothesis to convert to definite proof.

But – quite surprising – nothing flexes in Mr. Hobbs, nothing bothers him while the tendentious vortex surrounds him menacingly. For a moment, the poor man gives the impression of finally being defeated, that until he finds a way out – a secondary reaction to negative stimuli – explosives constantly produced by the implacable investigator. A negative energy is converted to a positive one. In terms of personality, the cat proves stronger than the dog.

Mr. Hobbs has to choose between revealing his plan, with the risk of completely compromising his future, or to maintain a neutral and correct stance on recent events.

If resistivity depends linearly on temperature in linear conductors, Mr. Hobbs’ only way to get rid of the hook depends of the strength of the material he is cut out of. Only his sharp mind manages to free him from the interrogation led closely to extreme. His confidence, tact, composure, ability to communicate, strength of character, prudence and rapid response ability become first aid points, with stabilizing role in case of a fall.

Everything is uncertain on the horizon that seems to be postponed. Lonely in the twilight, a man manages to chase his end, to remove any doubt hanging over him. Undaunted, he retains his strong position in the control space where he tries to penetrate and dominate another authority, that of Mr. Finch. *

Leadership: How do you manage a surprise-test in your development process especially when you have to make the effort to break away from the past mistakes that should not be judged by a final judgment?

Are you surrounded by the tendentious vortex of an incriminating verdict? Which are your first aid points with stabilization role in case of a fall? Do you prove stronger than any foreign authority in terms of personality? How can you prove your innocence? Are you a "fake" that cannot be understood by any rational power?

Applying leadership based on your level of thinking and reaction to unexpected events, with work and head for the truth supporting your actions and principles, is worth nothing if the most enduring personal characteristics do not contribute to strengthening relations.

Here’s a way to make serious contributions to leadership. By "interrogation", by a surprise-test in your development process, by an assessment test of your abilities, to determine the emphasis of those permanent and general constants that you can rely on and of which others should be aware of before following you.

Leadership needs a force structure, a natural symmetry, a full harmony between the alternatives that can help you conceive a painting, a relevant image of some awkward situations.

The interrogatory proposal and declaration is made after the unwritten rules of leadership, sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly, through some form of testing your "control systems", your performance and skills through an unknown and difficult to influence foreign authority.

Ultimately, I believe that leadership tested on "suspects" does not depart from its mission, and the results of the investigation, sometimes supporting a limited form of rigor, may reveal more clearly the leader’s true character and true content of his mentality.

Leadership: Are you dominated by the sense of responsibility that gives the "Guilty" or "Not guilty" verdict in the event of approaching a self-image that has to withstand a strong emotional impact?

Who is most affected? Surely he who cannot afford to explore his own resources and experiences. It’s the fear of going to explore one’s own difficulties in their depth. In these conditions, leadership becomes more difficult to handle and harder to use, understand and accept.

When someone rushes over you intending to obtain the definite proof of your abilities, the only way to get rid of the hook depends on the strength of the material you are made of. Only your sharp mind manages to rescue you. Your confidence, tact, composure, ability to communicate, strength of character, prudence and rapid response capability are the main help points with stabilizing role in case of a fall. A very small variation of these constant points can blow up everything you’ve built, everything you assimilated over time.

"Guilty" or "Not guilty", these differentiating factors of an autonomous or fearful self, training defensive or offensive mechanisms, constitute incriminating or exculpatory evidence. Mr. Hobbs’s strong emotional impact is not given by his “guilty” status, but by the player status of a chess match in which he continues to have an ace up his sleeve, without waiting for the opponent to move. Basically, he is in a permanent state of calm and euphoria, while his opponent is in a permanent state of tension and rivalry.

To approach a self-image meant to withstand a strong emotional impact means rising to the expectations of the authority of your ability to keep calm in situations when the intrusion of other people into your life (or into your spheres of activity) is major.

Mr. Finch’s Rigorous Interrogation designates that stage in the evolutionary process that prevents you to pass to another level. It designates that strange, exciting and mysterious phenomenon, by which you reach a complex of feelings that expose your true identity.

But to really analyze your personality, someone else needs to enter into your own research laboratory. Everything that happens in this complex laboratory reflects how you live your life, with all its additions of black and white that define you.

If an experiment fails, an unexpected reaction will release a certain amount of negative energy that will affect your personality. Everything inside you will seem outdated and hardened. In this case, you risk falling into a psychological complex of guilt and no longer be able to support your own beliefs and values.
