My child, why are you the only one without a lit candle?
In every ending hides a new beginning, not yet seen by the human eye.
I found this emotional story in a notebook lost on the street while I was walking home. I will share it with you, not only because it is full of teachings, but because it really touches your soul.
One fateful day, while crossing the street, a car hit a little girl hard, who lost her life on the spot. He was only 5 years old, exactly on the day of the accident.
Not even 20 minutes later, a representative of the Police appeared at her parents' door, informing them of the misfortune. The girl's mother was left traumatized and without any hope. There is no greater pain on Earth.
For years after the little girl's death, she couldn't sleep at all, constantly dreaming of her and crying until she passed out. One day, dozing off, he dreamed of an angel who told him: "Stop crying!"
Hearing this, the mother asked him: "Can I talk to her or see her at least once?"
The angel answers her: "Do you want to see her? Then the angel takes the woman by the hand and takes her up to heaven."
Do you have to look beyond reality to see the perspective of a new world, even if what keeps you in place is the dream?
Arriving in heaven, a gate opened wide, where thousands of children stood with candles in their hands, forming a whole road.
Seeing this, the mother asks the angel, "Who are they?"
They are the children who reach Heaven every day, the angel immediately answers.
- Is my daughter among them?
- Look carefully, what is there in the dice...
A child came running. She was beaming with joy as if she was meeting her mother after decades.
Can you adopt a perspective that values the courage to explore beyond the known, even when the familiar holds you back?
Seeing her, the mother cheered up for a moment.. but in a few seconds she fell to her knees and burst into tears again. Her daughter was the only one who didn't have a lighted candle and her face wasn't lit either.
But the little girl came closer and closer and hugged her mother as if for the last time!
- My child, why are you the only one without a lit candle? the mother asks through tears.
- Dear mother, please, stop crying! Look, I light my candle every night, just like the other children, but your tears put it out! Therefore, my candle is always extinguished, and I am obliged to remain all the time in the dark.
The moral is this. Don't cry all the time for the lost man, be it father, brother, husband or child. Let him rest in peace, don't torment your life because he won't come back no matter what. Instead, you can keep that man's memory alive by remembering him fondly and smiling at his memory. It's a sad story but I hope you learn something from it. Amen! The story must awaken memories in the soul of every person who has lost someone dear!
Leadership can present meaning through the following fulcrum: "Liberation comes when we embrace the memories, not when we allow ourselves to be swallowed up by the pain."
My child, why are you the only one without a lit candle? is the question few know the answer to, and even fewer would have the courage to face its truth. All I can say is that remembering loved ones should not be a source of pain, but a guiding beacon to inner peace and that today's tears can extinguish tomorrow's light. So let's learn to smile at the memories to keep the flame alive.
