Everything in Kevin Lomax's life changed after he was recruited by the most powerful law firm in the world, "Milton, Chadwick & Waters". Despite the fact that his mother was not agree, he accepted to provide his services of a professional lawyer to this company headed by none other than John Milton, a very powerful man with a very strange personality, which has aroused some suspicion since their first meeting.

If you saw the movie "The Devil's Advocate (1997)", perhaps you remember the end. Milton proposes to Kevin to take over his company, promising that he will have everything in the world, but with a single price - to sell his soul. But Kevin was hiding virtues that Milton did not believe that he has them.

Examining the depth of his soul, studying carefully his conscience, feeling that he might commit the worst sin, Kevin, instead of receiving enthusiastically the proposal from Milton, instead of enjoying the honor of being at his company's management, refuses the offer. He cannot approve what is required, he cannot put his entire "being" on one card, but he finds himself forced - tragically disagree - to reject the generous offer and to keep the soul clean.

Here's a really beautiful act, indeed, I would say more, really great, worthy of a man with a special inner virtue.

The movie "The Devil's Advocate" is a metaphor that brings out well the fundamental factors that define the "personality" of the individual, especially the leaders one. For, the more you will find yourself above in the top of the elite people, the more you will be subjected to all sorts of trials that you'll be able to overcome only by responsibility, honesty, truth, justice, only through a full inner integrity.

Nothing should tempt and remove you from your true Ego. In leadership, but also in everyday life, your moral consistency is of utmost importance - whether you act according to your conscience. Every moment of your life is influenced by what you are, of the way you feel and think, of the way you relate to your own weaknesses and limitations. You must be as aware of your inspiring virtues and to protect them, to ensure the full and complete development of your positive ego.

You can successfully pass the litmus test of temptations and tests that afflict you, unless you are united with your most sincere feelings and your personality, only if you obey those good rules that you choose, the rules that will not allow you to fall prey to negative influences. Learn to stop yourself before pulling the trigger.

Leadership manifests when your consciousness is reflected in the struggle between good and evil and becomes a commitment to the values that can transform life.

Only if you fully assume the parable of a judgment built on the principle of confrontation between good and evil, you can achieve the full measure of your own capacities to deal with situations you have never experienced before.

Sketch yourself a philosophy to be based on your inner integrity, respect for yourself, and your dedication to the principles that guides you. Everything will collapse if the things that you do, and that represents you, are moving away from your true spiritual roots.

Imagine that one day you receive a letter from an unknown person. The letter sparks you the most vividly interest because it tells about a treasure. But, in the same time it has a secret that makes you think about you, or in connection to the person that wrote to you. It is impossible that those mysterious words, yet meaningful, do not bother your mind.

The letter ends with the following request: "I left a treasure in your care. Always watch over it, and you will have no problem. Deign, please, my dear friend, to appreciate my sign full of affection and always remember me..."

You want to fold the letter and put it somewhere away. But, however, you feel the need to read it and re-read it again because it tells about you and about a treasure. And above all because someone care and still care with all his soul for you.

Learn to take into account the voice of intuition and trust it. To forget about yourself is to burn the letter without keeping track of what exists within you.

To affirm your greatness means to look into the mirror of your being: where you perceive shadows, seek to understand them, and where you recognize fragility, transform it into wisdom — to protect the most precious treasure: the pure soul.

Inner integrity is like a letter that you feel the need to read and to constantly re-read it. It is an attribute that you must not ever forget it, is the only quality that validates your values. It tells you what you are inside, gives you the impetus to connect to your own ego and to your beliefs that coordinates you in taking important decisions. If it does not mean anything to you, it means you're neglecting your personality.

And, however I repeat to you again, future leader: Be cautious. Always direct your actions following sound principles and put more emphasis on your best virtues to live quietly, without any feeling of guilt. You have hidden a treasure in you - inner integrity - that can switch you to logic and a wise and healthy wisdom. All your wealth and your good depend on what it is in yourself and what happens there.

Being an effective leader is to maintain your vigilance awake, finding that middle ground that moderates excesses in favor of wisdom, between what is happening and how you react to what happens.

It was quite right the one who said that we are actors on the stage of life. We often interpret roles which, strangely, do not coincide with what we are actually. We are like actors that to play well a role, need to forget themselves, and to enter the "skin" of the character that they embody.

Inner integrity refers to who you really are, not to what you want from people to see in you. One is to be yourself and act according to what you feel inside, another is to be someone other than who you are and cover with a layer of veneer your inner self. You cannot ignore the truth about you. You cannot display the integrity that is forever at odds with your true inner. Remember Kevin Lomax, in the end he had to give up the false integrity and to return to the standards dictated by his own conscience.

I agree with the one who said that "integrity is not a switch that you close it or open it, depending on the circumstances that are convenient for you and from that you can benefit." The inner integrity belongs by what you are when you face your own self. Are you true to your own self?

Conclusion: People are divided into two categories: people and not people, says an old adage. It is up to you which category you belong. The smoother and better path is when your ego does not conflict with what you are required. Therefore, you must always maintain your inner integrity and protect your interior virtues of having a peaceful and bright future, in perfect agreement with what you feel and what you are.
