Sight Gives You A Way, But Only The Spirit Can Show You The Direction
The place from which you look gives you a new perspective, only if you make that distant place a symbol of your unconquerable greatness.
In the moments when you feel you are being tested to your limits, that's when you find out how far you can go, and the mountain becomes the symbol of that inner call that challenges you to grow beyond what you thought possible. My sister, Oana Fântânaru, knows this best, when she experiences the freedom of running, with every opportunity to assert her inner strength. Every detail of the race, from the topography of the terrain to its heartbeat, becomes a piece in a puzzle of the universal connection, of the synergy between man and nature, the final image of which reveals the true nature of his existence.
Creation involves a constant dialogue between physical effort and spiritual understanding. At the last race, the 22 km half-marathon at "Curtea Domneasca", Oana ran a long way ahead of many runners, reaching almost the top of the mountain alone, in a space of reconnection with herself, a space of a freedom impossible elsewhere. Dignity does not depend on where you are, but on the spirit with which you animate it. Something in it seemed to constantly attract his attention: "Open your soul to the mysterious call of the mountain, understanding that every step on its paths becomes a revelation of self."
In this context, creation is not only the act of making running an art, an "Atinursum Insumaton", a unique way of expression through movement, through the grace and constancy through which the sustained rhythm reveals the inner harmony, but it is the form in which the mind and the body comes together to express a message of oneness with nature. And if I were to give an artistic form to Oana's journey, as an artist would do when painting an ideal, I would say that beyond the canvas of fatigue, an unnoticed elegance emerges, because every movement expresses a unity with nature.
Can the revelation that frees you from illusions be understood as a "window to greatness", insofar as your gaze becomes an artistic way of perceiving another dimension of reality?
Oana's silence was more eloquent than any words she could have uttered, but her thoughts were telling her, assaulting her with a single deep, unexpected message, elevated to the sublime inner truth, of which only the heart seemed to be aware:
"I had something on my soul, something was grinding me deeply, as if the mountain was calling me to discover its secrets, every step on its paths becoming a silent dialogue between the effort of my body and the breathing of nature's soul. There, far from the other runners, in an almost sacred seclusion, my running was no longer just a physical act, but an inward journey, a subtle balance between grace and determination. At every turn, at every stone bypassed, it was as if I heard the call of the mountain, an ancient and mysterious call, whispering to me to open my heart, to let my thoughts flow freely, like a river winding through the rocks. In those moments, I was no longer just a runner, but felt like I had become part of a vibrant and living landscape, an extension of nature, as body and soul harmonized in a single breath, in a single revelation. "
All this fragment of soul expressed so clearly in words, through the voice of an artist whose grace is manifested in the field of running, immediately refers to a fragment of the "Portrait of the Emperor", described by the talented writer Wilhelm Hauff:
"Son," replied the general, "how can you be great in a department of knowledge greater than any other man of the century, without being a great man? Not a machine, not the body makes you great, but the spirit. Those forms the antiquated systems of Europe, conceived by wise men thousands of years ago, have collapsed because they were empty forms of spirit. Eyes unenlightened by the living spirit see only the surface of things, and the gaze becomes a window to greatness only when you use it to see beyond forms."
Can nature become a unique setting in which your body integrates perfectly, generating a figurative composition that combines grace with inner strength?
Oana's thoughts turned to her once more in those momentos de triunfo, when the top of the mountain revealed to her what her heart already knew, with the same clarity of an artist who, arriving in front of the white canvas, already sees the finished work:
"Arriving at the top of the mountain, I felt everything around me expand, letting my thoughts dissipate into the vastness of the horizon. The view was not just a landscape, but a reflection of my own journey, a silent symbol of the inner greatness I was discovering with every step. This summit was not a destination, but a confirmation that I had overcome the limits imposed by doubts and weaknesses. In that moment I understood that I was not there just to look down, but to transform the height into my own power, a manifestation of the indomitable spirit that refuses to be brought down."
The final time is the result of a complex process of synchronization between physical effort and inner motivation, where every movement is a reaction to the mental challenges of the race. And because the final time is also an expression of Oana's power to reinvent herself, in apparent isolation, then the manifestation of her spirit becomes a transforming force, a kind of revelation in motion. Therefore, true clarity of vision is not physical, but a result of your unconquered inner vision.
The tendency towards heights is directly proportional to the harmony between the ambition of the vision and the inner rhythm of the leader.
Sight Gives You A Way, But Only The Spirit Can Show You The Direction when you are at the crossroads, in the idea that every choice defines who you become, correlated with the constant evolution of the self. Only in apparent isolation can you discover the true essence of life, finding your ultimate freedom through the silence of your thoughts, as an affirmation of your unconquered spirit in the face of challenges.
