I really liked the personality of the young writer Wilhelm Hauff, not because of his humble origins that gave him a tremendous creative boost, giving up a career in priesthood, but because of the image he built of himself. It is the image of an idealist. A pacifist. Of a philosopher. Of a thinker full of the consciousness of his exceptionality. The feeling of peace and fulfillment you have when your creation becomes the subject of the image of a new reality can also contribute to this image: “What you build about yourself changes what you are for a different perspective.”

When I read Hauff, with much consideration, with much emotion, with much charge of soul, as through a kind of secret and distant call, I feel that I am able to find the symbolic correspondences of a Shakespearean interpretation in the dreams of a Kafkaesque world. In any image, dedicated to such a personality, making a connection to the activity of existential values (such as dignity, reputation and integrity), is reflected the highest distinction of the soul: “Be content with yourself ! ”

How do you perceive the idea of ​​making your way through the world with "your pen", in an authentic way, shaping a work that will last in the spirit of beauty and goodness?

Fixing the balance of all the qualities necessary for deep writing, as a remedy for loneliness, the manifestation of the personality subjected to the process of internalization is found in the following fragment cut from a monologue of a narrator meditating on his condition in a troubled century. Immediately, the affective support of internalization depends on the direct result of the motivation to communicate one’s point of view regarding the experience gained through the individual assimilation of the Great Knowledge. It is not necessarily about achieving success, but about the authenticity of one’s own story, the authenticity of one’s own feelings, the authenticity of one’s own vision.

Here is what Wilhelm Hauff wrote about himself in a brief moment of lucidity:

“I am just a poor young man forced to make his way around the world with his pen. I belong to everyone, I belong to myself, but I do not belong to any school… I do not feel above me any master or teacher to whom I owe obedience, apart from the eternal laws of good and beauty, to which I tend, even so, in an imperfect manner. I may not be able to keep my form away from the influence of time, but my spirit will remain untouched.”

Do you treat your power of thought as an act of advancing in a “higher meaning” attributed to the manifestation of your personality in a sublime process of internalization?

There are two kinds of artists: the authentic and the helped to become authentic. The former learns everything on their own, from nature, the latter learns everything with the help of someone else.

Herein lies the difference. Those who learn everything on their own develop their own thought patterns. He who learns everything from someone else, takes over the thought patterns of that individual, even if his work is considered unique in form, finish, design and quality.

Overcoming the narrow framework of personal experience, artists become more than creators, enriching their perspective of seeing the heart of things, their hidden beauty, their purpose, their different side in an image of “Myself”. That is, the fact of living life in another plane, of symbolic emotionality.

This “Myself” is the enriching framework of the writer from the experience of a point of view located at height. In fact, the freedom to be an artist can be interpreted only through the screen of an Ego fed by a permanent admiration for good and beauty, from everything that surrounds his being. It is a revitalization of the feeling of thankfulness, of value, of gratitude brought to the freedom of expression that offers new perspectives of interpretation of the reality experienced through writing, through a long reflection on the writing to which you dedicate your life.

Authenticity means owing nothing to anyone but yourself.

The teacher teaches his student to draw flowers. The student learns to draw some wonderful flowers, more beautiful than those in the master’s drawings. But he could never have reached art without a master holding on to it. All his work will be reduced to a point of view of the “Other” who stood behind his becoming. Always, the success of his creations will be due to the lessons offered by his master.

For this reason, I have to believe that the artist who makes himself the masterpiece of his own thought lessons is more valuable. He owes nothing to anyone but the joy of the results of working with himself. Authenticity means not owing anyone anything. So, it is not just about making some wonderful drawings, more beautiful than those of others.

An internalization process must reflect a part of the creator’s personality in terms of thinking laid out on paper with the consistency of a simple, honest, free life experience, able to give the ego the impression of unity, integrity and autonomy.

The Authenticity Of The Self-thinking Man is the proof of the great esteem offered by a poor young man forced to make his way through the world with his pen, which is more than an ordinary writer, it is the confession of a spirit that possesses burning lucidity of his characters. It is the expression of a spirit that will always remain untouched.
