The Empirical Part Of Knowledge
Try to achieve a delimitation of the “unwritten” norms of the use of technology, extending the notion of “credible” to past events that have a meaning beyond their act of adoption.
Yesterday I was looking for some applications like “mp3 Cutter”. Of course, I looked it up on GooglePlay first. And while testing different applications, I remember accessing a free trial application with ads. And at one point there was an advertisement on some electronic circuits, an interesting way of promotion, but without any connection with music. And, because I used to be passionate about the field, I clicked. Nothing happened, it was a blind page. The application abruptly closed.
And that’s how I got to the story on Facebook with a Romanian song, with a Balkan rhythm, where the artist gave to the whole world his immeasurable “talent”. I just noticed that it popped up in my story feed. I deleted the post immediately, even though it was too late. People had already seen what I had in the story. Indeed, it would be very reassuring to listen to a Balkan song, if you were to like the genre… But I prefer a Haddaway.
And here’s what I want to say, to better put it:
The distinction between what is seen and what is credible is made according to two main criteria: the source of information and the way the brain processes information – moving from one idea to another instead of thinking linearly.
No, you are not fooled by technology, but you must be prepared to know it even when it has a minor role in your life. This is a lesson the past has taught me countless times.
What happened to you unexpectedly is what you will be able to use in terms of knowledge, so that you know how to approach the things that happen to you from a different perspective?
Really. I don’t know how a meaningless, rhythmless song came to be in my story feed, just because I clicked on an advertisement. This is what it means to have your phone driven by technology, while you’re still unaware of the danger behind said technology. Maybe Facebook doesn’t know how many “miracles” can be done with its help, without i9t realizing, without being able to prevent certain outside influences.
In this context, it is not necessary to follow the normal landmarks of the Internet, meaning the landmarks of a change that keeps the background of the old rules of normalcy. But I have to pay attention to the clever, unwritten rules that are generally valid when it comes to evaluating and testing an information system, and which are still legislated. And my few landmarks, but each of enormous weight, will always be tolerance, reason, morality and conscience.
However, that feeling of superiority is probably maintained even when you are fooled by technology. In fact, many people who are fooled by technology are becoming more and more confident in their technological capabilities, hoping that they, in turn, can use any “trick” for the benefit of science that they must learn more and more – the way it can do certain hard to accept things.
I say all this because it is not the first time that technology takes precedence over the knowledge I have, but each time I have tried to learn the mechanism behind the technology and use it to gain a better understanding of the stages of the evolution of the method of scientific knowledge.
The superiority of the man who embraces science lies in the fact that what he is entitled to approve or reject at the level of novelty includes his previous experience in managing challenges such as “keep only those things that carry meaning beyond their sheer enactment”.
The Empirical Part Of Knowledge refers to the actual activity of research and manipulation of information (which can be extracted from various web tools) so that for the adoption of decisions related to measuring personal performance to be considered only significant data of the process coordinated and led by the ability to resist disappointment.
This is what a man who loves technology thinks, even when he has been fooled by it: “What has happened to me without my expecting it is what I will be able to use at a level of knowledge, in order to know how to approach things that happen to me from a different perspective.”
