The Eyes See Only What Sight Offers Them

Whatever exerts an influence from the outside imposes a certain intensity on the sensibility in the field of open reflection.

I got closer to myself, more than usual, when the waves of the ocean came closer to the shore, becoming shallower and shallower, appearing friendly. In the spirit of welcome transparency, I stepped barefoot into the ocean water, calm, measured, unseen, despite the fact that I was just a speck of sand in a vast and limitless space. Paying attention to what I was saying, the waves seemed to hear the echo of my heartbeat, with the same acuity of the gaze of a sorcerer who penetrates deeper and deeper into your being before submitting to a hypnotic treatment.

And if I got closer to myself, without betraying my heart that whispered to me with a trembling voice “you only have this dream once in your life”, with the mention that the waves looked at me with clear eyes, but somehow suspect, this was due to the impressive view we got of the ocean. It seemed to me that I was no longer so small and insignificant, like a poor grain of sand, but that I was finally part of a magical infinity that does not circularly close in on itself, but withdraws from the ontological expanse to leave a place for the separate being.

When you look at the world from an infinite universe that you have inside you, everything changes, acquiring a wonderful shade of symbol, an element of communication that expresses contents with ideal meaning.

Can your creation represent you in order to identify the impact that a reality “independent of the knowing subject” has on the need to outline a horizon related to sensitivity?

The waves of the ocean cannot be calmed without the warmth of the sun. And I cannot be part of an infinity of distances if I do not recognize myself as the cause and principle of an infinite universe that contains countless worlds, filtered through the gentle light of the sun. This happens especially if I don’t create the impression of infinity that fits on a sheet of paper complete with a simpler version of a sandcastle. Sensitivity winks at me in the name of creation, because it is my connection to the infinite.

Besides, I realized that no matter how many waves would rock at my feet, their eyes fixed on the sky as if they were afraid of forgetting something in the vastness of the world, oh yes, their thematic center would have to be necessarily framed at my “eye level” as an artist who knows how to filter the light at the same time and create a mysterious effect of otherness, a fascinating effect of “painting within a painting”.

Let me tell you something else. If the sun is just a bright spot on a dark background, as is well known, then the waves without luster will not be able to impress at all with the quality of a pleasing image to the eye, because all beauty in art is produced with the help of light. So, it is important to recognize that the waves cannot provide an artistic orientation based strictly on aesthetics if the light space is seen against a dark background (a cold opposition), thus cannot be considered as an “original phenomenon” through which colors are produced.

Can you form in your mind an image that is to be transposed into a plane of alterity, and at the same time represent the actualization of a completed reality with a “painting in a painting” effect?

Furthermore. The waves are by no means to be imagined as having pre-existing colors, the blue-green emerging everywhere as a fertile zone of creation, nor as the revelation of some sacred reality, but rather as thematic content by producing colors as soon as the sunlight is fully correlated with the number one requirement imposed by sight: whatever exerts an influence from the outside imposes a certain intensity on the sensibility in the field of open reflection.

Therefore, the waves and the light, represented in the plane of the universal as the ideal unit of length of the creative impulse that breaks into what is real, will behave as photosensitive structures in the eyes of the beholder, not just as points of reflection. And if the artistic form takes as its symbol the ideal unity through the opposition between light and chiaroscuro, within the gaze, then art can serve to represent a vision that is not naive about reality and that is no longer under the threat of solipsism.

And as painting is especially based on the unity of the opposite, not merely on the formation of the multitude within the unity, it follows that everything that is changeable about the space in which the eye reflects its color, together with the objects of its representation, may constitute the very difference instituted by painter between ideal and real. Of course, in a perfect painting, painted with mastery in the choice of colors, the waves must have a meaning quite independently of the chiaroscuro ratio, especially if we consider the meaning of the symbol.

In leadership, you must cultivate a “distanced” view of yourself in order to better understand that what can provide you with a mental and emotional refresh is the very tendency to break away from the everyday, from what you know.
