At the crack of dawn, Cosette started laughing, talking and singing. The children, same as the birds, sung their morning song. She who had never known tenderness and affection, had engaged in a new life.

Jean Valjean saw that she never left during the day. Each evening, when it got dark outside, he went for a walk for an hour or two, sometimes alone but oftentimes together with Cosette, on the side-alleys of the most deserted avenues and entered churches, during nightfall. He walked holding her hand and telling her loving words. Cosette was very happy.

He started educating her. Sometimes, when having Cosette break words into syllables, he remembered that, in prison, he learned to read with the intention of doing evil. And these intentions now changed into the desire of educating a child. And then, the old convict smiled, with an angelic wandering smile.

To educate her and let her play – to this had all Jean Valjean’s life come down to. He watched for hours as she dressed her doll and listened to her chirping. Henceforth life seemed worth living, people seemed to him good and just. In his mind, he no longer chided anyone for anything. He could discern a future, as a parent, brightened by Cosette as by a light spell.

Can you process past experiences and then save them in a context of permissiveness, without becoming a slave to personal affirmation tendencies?

It is so costly to know yourself, to penetrate within yourself, deep within the heard that trembles, fears, shudders with every lash of life’s whip, at every breeze of a possible change, in search of a miracle beyond your meaning as a man to the rest of the world. And to remain that which even the divine laws, gathered in the form of small joys that we give to one another, entails them without halt throughout the course of life.

What brings you to the moment of truth against yourself, at a point in which inner change becomes possible, turning into reality the activation of that clause of leadership which restricts or cancels your right of entering the lives of others, is that moment of the present that processes past experiences and then saves them into a different context, one of permissiveness and moral values. Instinctively, he no longer accepts the role of a leader who does not accept compromises because it is caused by the attitude of the soul in which he seeks to seize new mental elements in the light circle of consciousness. The interest waking him is only conditioned by the present circumstances, it is no longer a distant interest, conditioned by future provisions.

The connecting link between who you were, who you are and who will be is given by experiencing new situations in the context of the change of attitude determined by higher feelings.

Remodeling the happenings of your life on a more "premium" content means embodying your spirit to achieve a desired result, even when the means that inspire you with the pleasure of being at a great height is not being used as a substitute for a heroic deed.

Your true value is not measured by the heroic deeds committed, but by the heroism of assuming the condition of a being that lives in the joy of expanding the warmth of loving gentleness over those who make it more hopeful.
