After years in which, with a boundless enthusiasm he dedicated his life to the cinema, the great Russian director Sergei Eisenstein, is hospitalized. A myocardial infarct. However, the illness did not break him down. Once again his fantastic vitality overcomes the crisis.
In the Kremlin hospital, bedridden, condemned to inactivity, the master meditates on the things around him, about his life. Now, he will be able to understand it. "When life is over, it remains only a postscript. Now I can do whatever I want." He asks bringing books in the hospital, reads a lot. He decides to write a useful postscript: to write his memoirs, under this impetus, he begins to write memories. "But, will anybody need them except me?"
"Well I can confess now: I did not understand anything. Nor life. Neither myself. Neither the forty-eight years lived by me. Nothing, perhaps only one thing. That I went through life in a hurry. That I have not looked nor in the right nor in the left... My attention was always stopped on the moment. As if I would hurry somewhere. As if I had not wanted to be late. As if I wanted to get there. As if I wanted to race further. All slipped through my fingers ! I did not know to snatch it, to keep it...”

As a leader, you must first of all, to be the sculptor of your own being, and then to try shaping the other people by your will. Even so, if you are continuously racing through life without stopping your attention to the moment, what sense will have your life? How to turn yourself, in a more sentient human being, more vibrant than others, if you do not properly define your purpose, values, principles, if you do not cultivate that personality, defined by nobility, if you do not develop that individuality which would ensure the acceptance and support of others?
Just as a film director combines the sound, color and image in order to create a cinematic masterpiece - and so you should combine in a harmoniously way a wider range of emotions, desires, motivations, constructive efforts and achievements to give a purpose to your life, and to better understand who you really are. The compromise that a leader makes with himself is to better understand himself through the prism of what he represents as the creation of a mind that tries to understand the springs of the phenomenon called: “Self-reflection”.
A leader especially explores himself, within a creative process, both through self-reflection, solitary introspection, and during the various activities he carries out (especially the deterministic activities for which he manifests a special calling).
