The Law Of The All-Encompassing Moment

“He who has looked at the present has looked at all things: those that have happened in the impenetrable past, and those that will happen in the future.” (Marcus Aurelius)

I sit in the sun, on the grass, in the mountains. In front of me is the hotel I return to every year. The grass knows all too well my habit of finding myself in the midst of nature, but the hotel doesn’t know that. The hotel wants me inside, which makes me feel like a captive, just like when you can’t escape from a place where time is running out, people are alike, and there’s no starting point towards self-satisfaction. However, my soul leads me to the hill behind the hotel, where the vivid colors combine with the smell of the mountains, next to which flows a spring.

Nature invites me to approach its purity, its secrets, its color palette, with peace and a lot of light. Maybe it’s better to sit in the sun, feeling the green grass transpose me to the old land of heroes, Avalon, so trying to experience something forgotten not only by me, but by the whole civilization. The wonderful grass, full of wild flowers, so fine to the touch, being a part of this lost totality, never changes its appearance.

But no one thinks of the grass full of happy flowers, no one is aware of its power that makes you recognize yourself as being the same across the rigors of time.

As can be seen, I recognized myself in a legend that has its origins in ancient times. I recognized in the presence of the blades of grass the very presence of symbolism, that drive to the scent of legendary times and I came to fully appreciate the dimensions and meanings of a myth in which Camelot of Avalon is the very hotel that now paints my horizon.

Even the colors of nature have withstood the rigors of time. And they are the same, immortal. Did Knight Lancelot think the same in his moments of solace?

Leadership: Is the acceptance of a succession of feelings, sensations and thoughts a model according to which you form the image of a previous duration and a later duration?

We will not find self-satisfaction in a place full of people, where everything is similar in need and aspiration. Rather, I think we get to know it if we feel the satisfaction of fulfilling a unique moment in our lives, which we imagined coming from another life, from other times, from the places where we would like to stay. After all, perhaps the true feeling of self-satisfaction is that we existed in a time before time.

It is better to be the irremediable prisoner of self-satisfaction, devoid of any contact with people’s daily routine, than to betray the memory of one’s own greatness obtained in another time, in another life. Therefore, I prefer a miracle that arose from the imagination of a positioning in the high sphere of a time-defying vision.

Yes, I am the same Lancelot knight who, in years and years, will be recognized as a Jedi knight, under the guise of a Luke Skywalker. As long as I live, nature will help me to increase my inner strength, to overcome my self-doubt, letting myself be guided by a memory that persists through a kind of warm, settled, airy state.

Happiness can also be achieved through simple, seemingly minor things that you can do every day, at any time when you sit alone on the pleasant-smelling grass. Equally, the reunion of the self is a drop from a place where the sensations of banality are blurred, taken out from the pressure of the concrete, these being discerned by the memory left by the idea of the space you traverse in time, through discretion and wisdom, just to get to the same place in which you were once a knight or a king.

The great revelation of the self consists in the recollection of a moment beyond which I cannot imagine others, so that it may seem to you that the place of your rediscovery comprises eternity.

We must discover the analogy, not the identity of the countless individual destinies that have left their mark on time, if we want to be aware of what Jorge Luis Borges long ago expressed in a single idea: “The physical universe has stopped because one man has reconnected with nature and its very essence, in a course without time and without clock.”

And, I allow myself another crossing of the knowledge of nature and the universe, taking into account what Marcus Aurelius had to say: “Even if the years of your life were three thousand or ten times three thousand, remember that no one loses a life other than the one they currently live, and neither does one live a life other than the one they lose. The longest term and the shortest term are therefore equal. Remember that all things rotate and rotate in the same orbits again, and that it is the same for the viewer whether he sees them for a century, or two, or indefinitely.”

Here is the conclusion: The man who fails to imagine anything beyond the space he discovers around him, not believing that there is another, is a man who does not recognize the immensity of another sphere: the Meta-Universe.

The great revelation of the self encompasses the meaning and emotion behind a gaze directed to a moment when what surprises you is your transformation into a person who knows how to move from a stagnant present to a lasting present.

The Law Of The All-Encompassing Moment emphasizes the need to capture a reality that from another angle might seem an opportunity to escape to another world, completely different from real life. Are you a person who recomposes, recreates the past, selecting, sometimes adding fictions that he thinks are real, true?

And since we got to this point, here are some words that go straight to my heart, someone shared them on a web page:

“Sometimes, we feel that that magical atmosphere that we all remember from childhood fairy tales and that made our world more beautiful, has disappeared from our lives. However, from time to time, we need to relive that sublime feeling, to let ourselves be carried on the wings of imagination in a place where everything is possible. And, above all, to open our eyes to the world around us, because the great mysteries are always hidden from us, in our current state, in the feeling of being one with nature. It’s up to us to figure it out.”
