The Magic Secret Of Mastery
Rise up to the height of your potential, joining you in your leadership and entering the atmosphere in harmony with it.
The day was ending. The drawing in which I tried to depict the image of a famous Hollywood actress was not bad, but it definitely lacked expressiveness. The woman in the drawing did not emanate an irresistible beauty, like the one in the picture I inspired myself from, but she seemed rather lifeless. She lacked that spark, that "something" special, which makes you dwell your eyes upon her, which makes you feel that she is alive, which makes you scream out loud "Wow ! " I was deeply disappointed with myself, with my lack of professionalism.
The master was looking at me with deep and great indulgence. His eyes seemed to tell me "you still have so much to learn."
- Master, why didn't my picture turn out well? I asked him on a determined and penetrating voice.
The master paused, as if he hesitated to reveal a secret that he had kept until then only for himself. He poured his scented, green tea into a glass, by the Oriental custom, he dissolved in it two cubes of sugar and sipped a few drops, savoring the drink with an indescribable joy. Then, his lips uttered rarely, with perfect calmness, the following words:
- Nick, you paint without feeling anything for your work. Nevertheless, the painting has a life of its own, and you must relate your soul to its soul. In order for your picture to be well done, to come alive, you must transpose yourself into the other world, that of the painting, in its landscape and the characters it renders. If you want to achieve perfection, you must integrate into the atmosphere of the painting and get in harmony with it.
Can you stay true to an ideal of perfection by taking on the continuous shaping of yourself as a work of art?
Leadership is optimized by going from the hard work of gathering construction material for creating an exceptional image, with the purpose of making it known in the frames of a believable realism, to creating a masterpiece of clarity and insight. Leadership, just like art, systematizes its selection criteria for "expression" based on the decorum of the inner world that you translate into a vision.
The decor of your inner world is built from the ability to convey an idea in an artistic form, supported by a clear concept. This capacity is evidence of an assumed experience, carried consciously through several levels of expression.
A first level is that which seeks to reveal the unfathomable dimension of creation, through the effort to bring to the surface what cannot be directly expressed in words. A second level concerns the dimension of imagination and dreaming, where constructive emotions are born and structured.
Authenticity in art does not appear separately on any of these planes, but arises from their interaction. Artistic potential is based on this coupling: between what cannot be said and what can be imagined.
What vision do you choose to approach when you realize that self-transformation is the only path to a revelatory experience?
In order to realize what you have never realized before, you must do something you did not make before. You must become someone else, something you never were. You must become a master. And for this, you must increase your value, enhancing the quality of the work you create. You must make that daring leap over the realm of your reason, and start perceiving with your soul beyond what you create. When you paint, you must feel you are a part of the drawing, you must transpose yourself into the atmosphere created by the picture.
The greatest painters have eagerly strained their powers into an unmeasured intellectual, but especially spiritual effort, in order to manage to reach the eternal mystery of perfection. It is not enough to paint in order for your painting to be alive, you must try and transpose yourself into the atmosphere of the painting with all your senses, and with your mind and soul, to try to feel the way are feeling the characters from the work you create.
This focus on the reality expressed so beautifully by the "soul experiences" is the driving force of making a successful painting.
Can you experience the sense of integration into a force that springs from a faithful reproduction of your own being without becoming a prisoner of an obsessive idea?
Undoubtedly, the great secret of a successful creation is to own a superior execution technique, as well as the art of personal integration into the atmosphere of the painting.
The success of a leader depends on the quality and quantity of his results, implicitly of the team he leads. Everything that can prevent him from leading his team towards success, everything that may limit his actions, reduces the depth and the quality of his "work". And the work of a leader is nothing but the entire activity he develops in full harmony with himself, with the spirit and his personality, in order to achieve his goal.
Just like the key to make a very good painting is to have the ability to transpose yourself into your own creation, just the same the key to succeed in leadership means to have the ability to transpose yourself into the atmosphere of the "work" you create.
How could a leader to fulfill people's expectations and mobilize their energies if he is not able to transpose himself into the spiritual depths of the leadership he creates? Everything the leader creates largely determines his success or his failure. If he fails to get into that state, which helps him see things differently and establish a special relationship with them, then he will not prove maximum efficiency in what he undertakes.
Rise up to the height of your potential, joining you in your leadership and entering the atmosphere in harmony with it. A true leader relates his soul to the soul of his „creation".
The prisoner of an obsessive idea is the man who transfigures his personality into art, but identifies himself to the point of confusion with his image in reality.
Conclusion: As a leader, you must struggle to relate your soul to that of your "work". Only if you manage to transpose yourself into your work, and you will do everything with tireless passion, only then and you will have full control over what you create.
Just like in painting, there is mastery, an art in leadership, in the absence of which the chances of success decrease significantly and the proposed target becomes difficult to achieve. However, this mastery is achieved only after years and years of work.
