The Mastery Of The Art Of Being Santa Claus

Interpretation of a fabulous image is in the direction of the endeavor to define the immense fertile of a different existence.

We have taken faith in Santa Claus as a foray into a fiction necessary for artistic expression through a whole development of spiritual symbolism that is found, I believe, only in the existential conception of the intellectual who has dedicated all his curiosity and independence to the thought of deciphering an alternate universe. An area of rethinking and recycling information, under the umbrella of a vast artistic current that I would call “Magical Realism” because it originates from the works of Jorge Luis Borges or Alejo Carpentier.

And this Santa Claus, best known for the gift given to those who have demonstrated merit or kindness, can also be celebrated by someone who is not necessarily religious, but who is able to make combinations of thoughts, ideas, images, deeds, things, sensations, used interactively and truthfully in a collage of images created through comparisons, metaphors, or personifications.

As for the chances of getting a different answer to the question: “Where can you meet Santa Claus?” in a time when everything, almost everything, is treated in terms of the impact that the expression of the primary condition of originality (specific to a person impregnated with a very sharp spirit for adventure) generates, we must first take into account the perceptions of persistent forms or the passing of the dream that the painter experiences every time he is around his paintings.

Art is not to be impregnated with the expression of a passing existence or the mirage of a world that expects to emphasize the hue beyond things and appearances, but with the space of the suspension of a moving story, because there is a pass between two cycles of great suggestive force, between two questions. To which world do I belong: the one left behind or the one that I hope for and want to revisit?

Can you define the meaning of the artistic trajectory after the idea of the transition from suggestion to image to outline the existence of a unique model of exposing a theme of reflection on the relationship between subject and space-time?

Santa Claus was not born in Lapland because his story had to belong to an adorable winter landscape, cheerful children and reindeer led sleds, but because the living presence of a universal hero had to be ensured, a promising example of a wide-eyed dreaming, without extinction had to be assured. And so, to reveal the hidden hideout of an essentially spiritual vision of good and happiness attached to different states of mind, coarse or refined.

Still, I embrace a subject that follows evolution in the form of figurative suggestions, usually loaded with increased expressive density, such as “The Creator and the Old Man Beyond the Picture”, generating epic transformations. There is a spiritual flow of energies that unites the generations from the beginnings to today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, a kind of psychological necessity that establishes direct relationships between things and people, between illusion and reality.

Here the meaning of the experience of receiving the forms of expression produced by the pound of a deep-sea poet does not fall upon a gifted person with unlimited possibilities to meet the most frequent expectations as soon as possible on a rush of looking forward to the tree with lights, equating to the amplification of a form of magnitude stimulating and visionary sensitivity in the brush technique.

It is amazing that the interpretation of a fabulous image, perhaps inspired by a mythological scenario full of symbolic load, is in the direction of striving to define the immense fertile of a different existence. One explored from an artistic perspective, so with a potential for training around a tendency to make aesthetic the description of the type “Feel the unreal of a poetic vision”.

Can you increase the impact of some fine arts extraction procedures in an attempt to substitute for a mentality that goes through fiction?

Once again, I feel like losing myself in the shaping of a horizon that does not really exist, from the presence of an artist who can transform the word into image (and vice versa), from the desire to possess another being that does not fit into beliefs and limited rules of life. Especially the need to give a new interpretation of a controversial figure.

Usually, the first sensation I have about Santa Claus when I hear about him is that of a strong thrill like a reunion with God, perceived as a reason for the holiness influence of a teaching of faith that was as easy as possible at first. Thus, the process of extracting artistic emotions, such as sensitivity or impressibility, is accomplished by reference to a permanent visual symbol, meant to evoke a spiritual awakening: “Santa Claus crosses the starry sky at night with his flying reindeer.”

I’m not stopping here. I try to get closer to Santa Claus, as I approach a God who haunts the dreams of those who think too much of them, reappearing periodically under the spell of an ever more surprising story. In this case, the art that nourishes the feeling of peace and soul fulfillment must convince the validity of an artistic fiction that captivates through my dreams transposed on the canvas, with the idea of becoming the dreams of the viewers.

The painter does not place his most representative hero in the midst of a mysterious view of reality beyond what is palpable, just for the sake of shaping a new theme of wide circulation. But he tries to suggest the emotion of a story illustrated suggestively through a vivid coloring and an astonishing message that puts his own personality in the process of perfecting an unparalleled work in art.

Can your art adhere to an imaginative ideal through an illustration of reality interpreted only by the artist’s vision that can give a broader sense to his emotions by addressing a theme that is becoming more and more current?

In a letter sent to the goldsmith Gaspare Ballini, later became famous, Italian writer Lodovico Dolce (1508/10-1568) stated: “The paintings must move the feelings and passions of the soul so that the one who looks must either rejoice or be disturbed by the nature of the subject, as do the poets or the orators. Characters must move the viewer’s soul either by disturbing it, or by cheering it, or by exhorting it to pity or anger, depending on the subject.”

I have always posed the issue of the feeling reflected in a visual, but tentative adaptation after a life lived through the power of fiction to spur in the future elements of artistic expression, such as the bells of the sleigh drawn by reindeer.

Santa Claus adheres to the endearing alternation of a nineteenth-century character through the pendulation between illusion and reality, headed step by step toward the continuous metamorphosis of forms of imaginative imagery to give a broader sense of emotion through a play of endless analogies. Analogies not only with certain saints or different spiritual experiences, but also with the notions of art theory (e.g. overlapping frames) and figurative representations that reproduce the “syntax” of a fictional universe.

The most appreciated features of Santa Claus no longer penetrate the art of the present only by formulating the symbol of wisdom and faith, but by exaggerating an aesthetic form already existing in the field of art. The beauty is not celebrated by the sensibility of the holiday air, but becomes the symbol of a world that ultimately links to another. Thus, the features of Santa Claus are no longer just the image of the soul in the mirror, which is capable of cheering up, giving, giving good, but emphasizing the need to visualize the abstract and transcend the visible.

Santa Claus is a shift from symbolism articulated in a fairly primitive manner, to the imaginary tributary of an everlasting memory.

The Mastery Of The Art Of Being Santa Claus is actually the mastery of the art of distorting the standard version of a known subject, to reach another end, reacting with a visible metaphorical conception of a world that is constantly being rechecked to rebuild its meanings and reinterpret messages.
