The Weight On A Leader's Shoulders

Make credible the manifestation of own individuality and of the character that you assume, for your potential to reach a maximum of quality.

It says that Gingis Han remained disorientated when he found out that one of his warriors killed Taicher, the brother of his enemy Jamukha, after he tried to steal his horses. There were only two ways of solving this: either he sent the warrior to Jamukha, what automatically meant his conviction to death, either he kept him, which meant without a doubt starting a war.

Ginghis Han kept the warrior who, doing his duty killed the thief and so he started the war in 1206 which changed forever the face of the history. The fact that he put his life in danger for a single soldier, Ginghis Han proved a great loyalty, and also that he is a good leader who knows how to cherish those who are doing their duty in his favour.

Leadership: Are you willing to experience a reality in which you can go beyond yourself, creating a "long exposure to heights" experience that will change that support point that sustains a destiny of legend?

As a leader, your responsibility to loyal people is akin to walking the wire: at first you only realize the danger of falling down and try to avoid a catastrophe, then you gain courage and move forward against the risk because you realize that you have to fulfill a destiny of the image of a legendary hero.

A destiny of legend, because there is no path to eternal glory that does not start from man, lies in the foundation of the truth of faith in remarkable deeds. The hero that always remembers history did not appear as a bearer of divine conscience or of a religious-moral goal to be the ultimate expression of a culminating struggle but, above all, distinguishes itself following attempts doomed to failure that have been completed with unexpected and colossal success.

People who follow you feel inspired by the incredible events produced around a dangerous attempt to get to the top of the world’s highest mountain, and from there make a jump that brings you faster than you expect to achieving an impossible goal.

Leadership is the act of climbing towards the immeasurable, followed by the effect of an empty fall that forms a miracle.

The tense situation behind an unsuccessful attempt must create new forms of continuing an action with more impetus and courage. Or, as Romanian writer Mihail Drumeş said: "If things do not go the way you want, try to bring your life further along with your dream. And because there is no other way, you have to fly, always fly, as if only to remind yourself that you are alive and that you have not left the struggle with circumstances contrary to your spirit."

You have to think about the fact that your success is due to the way people you lead make their job, and if you are not attentive to their efforts and you are not interested even for one second in their destiny, then probably neither them will care too much of you, your activities you want to do, about future plans that we've done.

What do you think the people will believe about you, if you are not capable of taking firm decisions on the most difficult times? What will they think if you are not able to get involved in solving their problems? More than likely, they will immediately form a bad opinion about you, and will seek to change their jobs and their leader as soon as possible.

Just as the accurate evaluation of a person is not given by the marks obtained in school, but rather of what he was able to realize in life, so your leadership potential will not reach a maximum of quality only by connecting with people, but rather if you are making it credible, through ideas, beliefs and values, the manifestation of your own individuality and the character that you assume.

If you want to develop your potential and to raise your level of leadership, you must learn "dancing" in your rhythm and of the others around you, just as you feel, but as well as they feel – in order to convince them that you are interested in maintaining a lasting relationship. Be credible in their eyes. The rest comes by itself.

Leadership: Do you rate the anticipation of victory at a rather high level of awareness of personal value, using the effects of adverse circumstances to increase the visual impact of the truly miraculous "fall"?

Accepting and fulfilling a destiny of legend does not consist in removing those effects of the act that are contrary to the indispensable demands of time and place, but in the conception of a path that no one can reach. A miraculous fall is a hindrance on a one-way road, but to those coming from the opposite direction.

The one that is in charge must do more than to guide people in a better direction. They have to assume the responsibility for each of them (as long as they are subordinated to him), for every mistake they made, and to not forget that the manner he involves in solving the problems, the decisions he takes in time, affects directly him.

The relation between manager and employee is very important and it's the base of success in a company. The manager who does not know to maintain a close relationship with employees, who fails to earn them the respect and support the long-term will always lose. No wonder that many managers of large companies are turning to outside help in order to maintain the efficient development of the company. This is a good method too - if you don't have leaders abilities find someone who has and who is willing to take your place when it comes to motivating the employees and making better the relation with them. But this way you risk to lose your power of influence.

Is the defining feature that you want people to identify with you the victory of the frightful explorer of new frontiers and new horizons that surpass any expectation?

Conclusion: A leader carries a great weight on his shoulders, the weight of responsibility and consequences of his decisions. He must take the hardest decisions and be loyal to those he leads. And if he wants to maintain his position he has to be able to inspire people, to sustain their morale in the most difficult moments and to assume responsibility for their deeds.
