The Gaze Gives Meaning To The Penetrating Eyes

The sight persists if you do not cease to look at nature in a particular way, without foreign eyes influencing it from your art.

Straight lines are monsters, said Delacroix a long time ago, and if so then I will avoid drawing a straight line along the things that the artist's eye encompasses, almost regularly, but will isolate them in an invisible space, in the center of a convex, impalpable lens that distorts them and makes them surreal. Indeed, it is something surreal to see, to feel, to express a vision of things through a kind of Tahtre Talutra Uncupatysat, living the moment in an imaginative plane, so that things seem fantastic from a separate dimension.

In this phase of the creation I will not try to suggest the depth of all things by their static nature, like an abandoned coastal lighthouse, or by their dynamic nature, like a fan that gives the scene a strange impression of oscillation. Nor will I attempt to express depth through a chiaroscuro that illuminates and shadows. Instead, I will try to render in neutral colors the feeling of calm, schematizing where the complex world of my thoughts that harmoniously intertwine, as in an endless story, experienced only by me.

I say this because only I can express what my eyes observe, only I can render artistically what inspires my gaze focused on subtle details. That's why I carefully placed an inscription in the center of my composition: "the sight persists if you do not stop looking at nature in a certain way, without foreign eyes from your art influencing it." At the same time, through the prism of a scheme conceived with the spontaneity of vision, and especially if I change my optics regarding the cultivation of perception and the immediate interpretation of the real, I will manage to form the unique background of a surrealist painting where the colors will be spread over wide surfaces, creating a distinct and expressive visual landscape.

Can you capture the present moment in a vibrant image, parallel to visible reality, so as to create a picture capable of provoking a wide range of feelings and reactions in the viewer?

I'm on the seafront of Dubai, in Pearl Jumeirah to be exact. As I gaze into the distance, participating in all that is external to me, the horizon line stretches before my eyes in perfect elegance, while the waves of the sea harmonize with the blue sky by their constant and rhythmic movement, the sky itself being a source of escape from everyday banality. At the same time, the color of the water delicately mixes with the shades of the sand, forming a vibrant and lively painting, with a canvas whose subject is quite special in that it puts the experience of impressionism at the center of attention.

As the fine sand slips between my toes, like water through a cloth to separate itself from solid particles or foreign bodies, the eye is drawn to a few seashells that seem to have been delicately carved out of a wonderful dream. By capturing this moment in a vibrant image, parallel to visible reality, I will be able to create paintings capable of provoking a wide range of feelings and reactions in the viewer. This means capturing and expressively reflecting the essence and atmosphere of the present moment in a photograph, or in a pictorial image, with the consent of art to transcend reality and transform into a creative form what is perceived.

Obvious. The painter in me would take every detail of this seascape, beyond the blues vibrating in the light, the flecks of gold flashing, and turn it into a remarkable work in which the thick, fleeting strokes flow, meander and swirl as if they would benefit from a self-contained life, an endless hustle and bustle. He would use fine brushwork and vibrant colors, often found in oil and acrylic painting, to render the glint of the sun and the playful reflections of the water while capturing the essence of each wave, their size and energy, capturing their movement in a unique way, through sensitive brush strokes that give life to this landscape.

Can you capture the visual aspect from the causal dimension of a work that belongs to nature, so that the experience of emotions does not become captive in a painting because of the vulnerability to reveal them?

But art is not only about the visual aspect contained in the causal dimension of a work that belongs to nature, with God's permission, but also about experiencing emotions (like the sight of oceanic beauties) that can become captive in a painting due to the vulnerability of the artist, shaking of an inexplicable joy, yearning to achieve something unprecedented. As is the case with that female character of Dumas, from the novel "The Hand of Providence", who at one point reveals her artistic side:

"There is only the space between us, and I tried to put the infinite in it: art. The idea of perfection captured me and created a separate universe for me and above the real world. I have not forgotten you, but now I had a soft and melancholy feeling for you, as at the memory of a dear being. It seemed to me that you had died. Yes, by some strange effect of the immortality of art, it seemed to me that you who lived in the middle of the world, of celebrations and pleasures had died, and I, who only existed through art, who was isolated from everything and above all, I, who no longer had emotions or interest, except for chimerical persons and imaginary sufferings, was alive."

This is about visual expressiveness: you try to translate the emotions, energy and character of the moment into the image. So you have to use techniques like composition, colors and light to highlight important aspects that your heart feels deeply.

Watching the waves of the sea struggle in my field of vision to stand out, and feeling the light breeze trying to create an effect of reality, my heart beats faster and my soul fills with joy and peace as when you retreat into a contemplation that transforms the work of art into a deep and personal experience. In these deep moments, bringing valuable experiences, I feel connected to the essence of life and the creative force of nature, especially from the point of view of a positive force produced by a pictorial technique based on the dilution of colors with water, which leads to downright poetic results. All I have to do now is decide what exactly I have the power to change with a single look, and not just any look, but one that redefines the whole perspective, bringing new possibilities and meanings to light.

The process of crafting a vision involves the ability to capture and convey the essence of a moment in an unforgettable image, while respecting the power of art to transcend and interpret reality in a unique and subjective way.

The Gaze Gives Meaning To The Penetrating Eyes as they open their gate to the depths of the soul, capturing everything around with that penetrating gaze that discovers the essence beyond appearances. A person with vision has the ability to see beyond the ordinary and find innovative ways to approach any theme and any subject, similar to how the eyes can discover subtle details in art or reinterpret reality in a unique way.
